I know there are many fans including myself who are not liking the negativity surrounding Surbhi and her character Bela. I guess haters can't separate fiction from nonfiction. It's a good thing that Surbhi is a joyful bright person who doesn't allow negativity to touch her. So despite my complaints about how the writers are developing Bela; I made this topic in honor of my favorite character of the show.
To begin with i know Ruhi & Bela are one but if you were to ask me who I prefer; it will be Bela. Bela has come a far way from being Ruhi. Ruhi changing to Bela with a new identity and face; It's symbolic for a new life and new love. Bela is more mature in my opinion then when she was Ruhi. It's like Ruhi and Bela are 2 different people. When you look at Ruhi she was immature and naive. She loved this man who we all are ASSUMING has used and lied to her for all these years. When she changed to Bela we see her more mature, responsible, calm, alert and a bit more focus. Despite her transition she still mantained that innocence.
Despite the revenge plot being weak; we see Bela acting in a way queens should be. Bela is merciful and fair unlike Vish and Vikrant who wants to kill innocents like Anu and Mahir. She shows humane feelings towards humans. It's better to feel rather than feeling nothing at all. If she kill everyone guilty and innocent she would be seen as cruel. However despite how angry she was; she didn't let the anger get into her head for her to kill the innocent people who was there that night. We saw her fulfilling her duty as naagrani and protecting her vansh. She didn't want to poison Mahir but she did her duty and got the naagmani back. The smooth transition of Bela fitting into the naagrani role was done good in my opinion.
Next I would like to say Bela is not a tease. Haters are saying she moved on from Vikrant love. As soon as Vikrant came back; Bela made sure to let him know that Mahir is her soulmate and she loves him. She didn't beat around the bush and kept him hanging. She got straight to the point. Unlike other girls they would strung two boys along. However Bela didn't do that. As hard as it was she let Vikrant go. Indeed the writers should have handled the Vikrant and Bela plot better. Even if they turned Vikrant negative the times they spent together can't be ignored. As well as the love they shared. Cause in viewers mind they will perceive it as breaking his heart. If you are going to show Vikrant negative now is the right time. Not by turning the whole thing into a love triangle. However I respect Bela for that.
Finally I would say Bela is relatable. Surbhi makes the character so relatable just like she did with zoya in qubool hai. Her expressions and the way she delivers her dialogue are on point. Although I will admit sometimes surbhi needs to say her dialogues a bit slower and not speak so loud. Other than that she is doing a great job. Also Bela looks after and cares for the people she love. People like Vish, Mahir, Anu and sumitra. She always showed compassion and care despite how they be with her.
So in all I don't care what people say about Bela right now. Her character is not perfect and have flaws. Yes the writers should have handled the Vikrant plot better. But soon and it looks like this weekend his truth will be out. I love Bela and enjoying her on screen performance.
