The popularity of both actors was pretty high before this show, but I feel like this show was the wrong choice for both.
Nandini is a weak character with no substance. Honestly all she does is dress up, cry and think about herself. Drashti is extremely unlucky that she has been lumbered with such a poorly written character, which she probably didn't expect.
As for Shakti, he has spineless Kunal to contend with, who for me has been written to be even worse than Nandini. Seriously what does this man even do in this show, just runs after Mauli or Nandini?
When I watched promo's for this show, I was naive enough to think that there may not be a full blown affair. In my defence the promo's did show that Kunal loved Mauli, but had developed feelings for Nandini. I thought we'd be shown how they fight these feelings and how Kunal works on his marriage and Nandini tries to save her friendship. I guess just like me, the actors didn't expect to get such poorly written characters.
