Seriously now I know where kunal gets his nature from.
Manipulative and childish nature from his Dida. (even though she is doing it from the goodness of her heart). Still she is manipulating them for what she thinks is right.
Being silent and letting everyone do what they want without telling them your own opinion. He gets it from his own mother. Yes his mother's sympathy lies with mauli and mauli has her full support also. But that's it. She has yet to ask her son what he wants or actually talk sense into him.
So in the whole family either you don't care about anyone's opinion and dictate your own. Or you don't give any opinion at all and silently just watch everyone. Or you just listen to what everyone has to say without telling them what you want to do.
