I hope that she comes back to Tum. Yeh pati parmeshwar waala concept mere gale se kabhi nahi utarta hai ... big reminder of how patriarchal India is.
And ITV loves propagating this.

Dadi was there a lot of girls call their hubbies aap in front of elders In fact I know of cases where girls don't take their hubby names and these are all NRI ladies newly married 😲

I know quiet a few of them where they give respect to their husbands and never call them with a name but they don't reference them as my husband when talking to others about husbands
They usually say "name did this ; said this etc.

I remember when Sonam Kapoor got married Sonam's mom told her to say "aap when Sonam called Babu

I think it's kind of cute when you are having conversations in your own language. In English it's just simple "you and doesn't sound awkward

India is divided in this, especially in this generation ... to each his own.

I personally know of a friend from B-School, whose wife joined him in the US when we were in the second year, and she would call him aap and suniye ...and then I have a busload of other friends too, who don't believe in the aap concept

I am of the second kind - like I said, the thought process on this is quite divided, and I guess its fine ...its a personal choice, no pressure

In this serial, she has always called him "Tum" right from the beginning ... and that also keeps them on an equal footing; one is not a protector and the other is not a protectee (especially not Palak) ...The sudden "aap" will be a jerk in that equation and my preference is to not make it any different ... I still want them to be friends and equals

I actually don't think the aap was a norm it was because she was teasing him about dating all of her friends..she's treating him as her equal..calls him rithvik..etc. the tum will.be back.

Ok so sometimes infront of others just to show respect towards husband girls talk like the way Palak was talking to the inspector. "Woh mere husband hain, aap unhein yahan laye hain..etc".

"Aap ne delhi ki kisi ladki ko chhora hai" this Palak was saying in teasing manner. Rithwik's reply was bang on😆
