With Bapanah off air over the weekend I decided to catch up on Harshad Chopda's earlier work as I had not seen any show of his earlier except Left, Right, Left. So for the past two days have been watching Humsafars ...I think his work prior to BP. and after which he has taken a long sabbatical to bounce back this year.
Saahir Choudhary his character in Humsafars is as different from Aditya Hooda as chalk is from cheese. I am dumbstruck with his range of histrionics and thought I must share this with all. Saahir holds your attention throughout just as our Aditya but the similiarity ends here. Saahir is character who does not reveal too much of himself and obviously has a dark past that I have not been privy to as yet in the episodes I have watched. For starters he speaks only in monosyllables ie IF he decides to speak at all even with his Ammi who never tires of telling everyone that he stern on the outside but very largehearted. His breakfast consists of a plate heaped with burnt toast !!! Never heard of that before. Our Aditya is the exact opposite. He is gregarious, talkative, prankster and full of life. No two characters can be more different from each other but Harshad Chopda impresses hugely as Saahir though unlike Bepanah Humsafars is a badly produced and directed serial ...the worst being the FL. I have not seen an actress perform so insipidly. Here Zoya and Aditya sizzle on screen ...one is an excellent foil to the other. Saahir poor guy has to carry every scene on his broad shoulders ...I am so tempted to FF everytime the lead actress comes on screen. But Harshad with his power packed performance does not allow you to move on. He single handedly carries the show on his own. The only other character I liked was Ammi.

A sample of a scene where he excels ...mesmerises.

Therr is huge difference in harshads character in every shows he does...it almost feels.like he is not the same.man..a different person with different character different soul even..only the talent of marvrllous acting remains the same....he can be anything and anyone onscreen..and we wouldnt rven realize he is not the person being shown....

Yes that is what I actually wanted to say ...that he becomes the character and Harshad Chopda disappears. I have not seen another actor capable of such histrionics.

Will watch all his earlier shows now one by one whenever there is a lull in BP. Should have started when the Arshad track began.

I am too currently watching humsafars...and when sahir enters, hotness is on another level and his acting, actually not only acting it more looks like he is living the character..
Seriously except HC, whole casting was bad...and specially FL and villains of the show..
Villains are damnn irritating and annoying even more than waseem and anjana..poor acting skills..

I think the problem is that Harshad overshadows his costars in every show because he is so good! And Jenny also has overshadowed her costars in Beyhadh. And that's why most of us are hooked to BP because they are so equally good. They both know exactly how to deliver their scenes. That's why people are hooked to the show despite so much inconsistency in the story/writing.

I binge watched the whole Humsafars season in. A week! Thats 106 episodes!

He nailed it, shame about the female lead she was merely ok. No offence im sure she's brill now!

Hoping HC and JW are casted in future ITV when BP will end.

Love their jodi like no other!

Nice post. The FL in Humsafars was a newbie so her debut serial and probably needed more coaching which she never got from the director. Poor Harshad had to carry the show all on his own I guess no wonder the show folded in a blink of an eye some 70 episodes I guess.

I watched a few episodes but couldn't stand the FL in Humsafars
I watched the entire show "Tere LiYe", Harshad plays a Devdas type character but not as sad...he carried the show once again, FL wasnt that great

BP is the first show he is equally matched in acting with his female co-star
