PR's people and their mind are just bullocks. Olympia's observation was right about PR's people being weak-willed and emotional fools. Kanishk nearly had him and Anusuya executed if Porus didn't land on time there. And when he decided to kill them, let off Anusuya, he could have at least take in account his filial bond with Bamni over his obsessional greed and hunger for power and the throne.
