Actually, Pia's tears were justified!! My opinion. We all know they are soulmates, they themselves feel the connection, it's another thing, they don't know what it is!!
The other half of a soulmate getting married to someone else would bring tears to the other half. Pia might not even understand why the tears but they came unbidden.
