Seems like electricity issues and skyrocketing bills is one more common thing between India and Pakistan; these are issues that have plagued the common man on both sides of the border. Earlier it was Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat's film Actor in Law that highlighted the problem in one of its courtroom sessions and now Bollywood's Batti Gul Meter Chalu sheds light on the prevailing issue in a very inspirational manner.

Mehwish Hayat saw the trailer and couldn't help but draw a comparison. "Major dejavu! tweeted the actor adding that it reminds her of her film Actor in Law.

Like Fahad Mustafa takes the common man's problem to the court and fights for their rights, here we see Shahid Kapoor fight against corruption in the electricity department. Mehwish further added, "Great to see that our neighbours are now taking inspiration from our movies.

While it's great to see Bollywood take inspiration' from our films, the makers of Actor in Law are not too happy about the idea of not giving due credit'.

"Actor in Law's screening in Mumbai will further prove where the inspiration has been taken from, stated producer Fizza Ali in an exclusive chat with Something Haute. "This is a very interesting timing for us, as obviously, their media will also be present.

"This just proves that people are watching our cinema across the border. Be it discreetly, they're still watching, Fizza said, also adding that it would be better if they started releasing our movies there the same way we screen Bollywood films here.

"And if they just want to take inspiration, they should do it ethically by giving due credit at least, she concluded.

Acc to the article...The subject is about power cuts its relevant in entire sub continent. How is it a copy ... by that definition Pk films seem to have song and dance too and romance like all bollywood films, that makes them copies too. Lol

What was Actor in Law exactly about? Was it entirely about the electricity issue?
If just the basic concept is same, then it cant be called a copy I guess... Otherwise all the romantic movies can be called copies of each other.. :\

there issue was appliances...person goest court and gets electric firms fined and gets them damages

here issue is higher bills...a person goes to court to get justice

both about a common man...lukkha...worthless...launda...lapada...person...suddenly waking up due to some incident...becoming lawyer and winning cases for ordinary man...and getting himself redemption..and making family proud

5-15 crore...my prediction

Bollywood has copied so much.. especially songs and 90's movies.. there's no denying..
Just questioning if it can be called a copy just because the basic concept is same.. I see that electricity is the main issue here but the treatment can be different, the setting and premise can be different.. so is it still a copy?

Electricity
Lukkha
Common man misery
Lukkha to Lawyer journey
Fighting in court
Redemption of lukkha

Difference

Appliances vs Bills

Modern copying is that they always make it little different. kindda like pritam lol. This is like someone making briyani with exact same recipe

one is mutton
other is chicken

edit: This is like someone making khichdi with exact same recipe..one with hari chatni..one with laal chatni.
briyani is not appropriate for this crap

There is no harm in giving credit to people who you were inspired from. To bad BW just copies and never gives credit to the originals that they were inspired.
