A Decade & A Year - #11YearsOfDMG

Hey guys! Just a few days left till our beloved show completes 11 years of spreading love and laughter! So, to commemorate this happy occasion, here's a thread to talk about all our favourite things about the show. Stuff we loved, stuff we miss even after so many years, stuff we didn't particularly like! Everything!

Come, let's relive all those memories again.

PS : No bashing of any kind of any of the actors will be tolerated on this thread. If you want to talk about the mistakes a character made or stuff you didn't like about them, it's all cool, but don't point fingers at actors and please, refrain from discussing whatever happened in their personal lives. This thread is to remember all the joy the show and AR brought us, and not to fight amongst ourselves.

PPS : I'm totally biased towards the cast of S1, and I understand most of us are, but fans of S2 should not feel awkward here and are always welcome to express their opinions freely. I hope you guys have fun here, too! J

Jab they met... It was the beginning of the love story of a lifetime.

When they finally got together, after all their trials, it was the beginning of a partnership that would never end.

For the uninitiated, Dill Mill Gayye is a TV show that aired on Star One from 20 August, 2007 to 29 October, 2010. It consisted of 721 episodes.

The show is a love story between two young doctors Dr. Armaan Mallik, who takes life as it comes, is a happy go lucky, flirty ball of sunshine who spreads cheer and joy wherever he goes and Dr. Riddhima Gupta, a shy, stubborn girl who wears her heart on her sleeves and loves her family more than anything else in the world. Two people who work together as interns in a reputed hospital of Mumbai, Sanjeevani.

They first meet on a basketball court where Riddhima defeats Armaan in a match. It begins a long game of tug of war between them with both of them intent on gaining the upper hand. But, soon, their feelings change and they fall for each other, but things aren't rosy for the couple and they have to fight against the world to be together. Their journey is aided by well meaning and understanding friends Dr. Rahul Grewal, Dr. Nikita Malhotra, Dr. Atul Joshi, Dr. Muskaan Chadda and Dr. Anjali Gupta, who is Riddhima's elder sister.

After a lot of problems, the couple is accepted by Riddhima's father, Dr. Shashank Gupta, only for their lives to change forever on the day that Armaan & Riddhima were set to be engaged. In a drastic turn of events, Riddhima is married to Dr. Siddhant Modi even though she's still in love with Armaan. On learning the truth, Armaan is devastated, but he tries to help Sid win Riddhima over and in the process, the two become close friends.

In this tough time, Armaan meets a girl, Dr. Shilpa Malhotra, who works at Sanjeevani as an intern and the two form a very complicated relationship that dangles the line between love and friendship. Shilpa falls for Armaan, but Armaan is still heartbroken over Riddhima's betrayal and is unable to return her feelings. He hurts a lot by his hot and cold attitude and in the end, a heartbroken Shilpa leaves Sanjeevani.

Shortly after Shilpa leaves, Sid realizes that Armaan & Riddhima still love each other madly and they won't ever be happy with someone else, which prompts him to divorce Riddhima and leave the country.

Post the divorce, after a lot of efforts, Armaan is able to convince Riddhima and the show ends with the couple getting back together on the basketball court, right where their journey started, bringing the story to a full circle.

From the first meeting of love birds in the basketball court till the last episode again in the basketball court where as u say their journey started wahi pe dono phirse ek hogayi after many hards times in their life
Dmg jaisa koi story nehi , its going to complete 11 years but it still seems
Hum bas abhi bhi wohi dekh rahi hai har din jab bhi humein kuch interesting dekhna hai toh
Tab kuch log bacche thi lekin ab badi bhi hogaye aur mature bhi
Still if anything that hasnt change than its our love for the show and the casts
True season 1 would be most favorite but season 2 bhi itna bura nehi tha
But the gang of season 1 couldn't just be forgotten because they are truly what are friends should be like
Their understanding supporting love concern and care is just something we can't think that really exists in this world
Aur hum apne favorite couple koh kaise bhul sakte hai
Their love care and understanding is something we all got inspirated abd believe that love can happen in this world just that is hard to get in real life

Maybe thats the reason that I can never like or just say love and adore any other couple till date
Being a reader and writer as well, I m still stick with this adorable couple whose love had won after the hardest phase they had gone together and being separate but still they believe their love which end up bringing them together at last
I do watch other shows but still if I get to watch DMG again and again
I would just grab the chance and keep watching it without getting bored ;)

Waise, pehle mujhe lagta tha ki woh koi puraani movie ka gaana hai jo unhone use kiya. I'd never heard it before and it was used only once, so I assumed. In fact, thode din pehle hi pata chala that it was made specially for DMG.
