I haven't watched or followed any of Starplus & Ekta combination wala those long ran Saas bahu dramas, rich joint family stories or Kasuati kind of daily soaps..just heard or read about few track happenings when they got copied/recycled into other soaps.. but yes there was a definite schedule followed at BT office earlier for their daily soaps, every 6 months one major shocking twist with a new track kickoff by hiring few new cast members or bringing back dead or missing characters into the soap and within that every 2 months a sub track with some small twists to engage viewers..😊 they lost maths, science and arts now..
Since you broached topic, when Kasauti remake news first came out few months back, I was doubtful if both Star Plus current bosses and Ekta have gone bonkers? to reprise 2001-2008 ran fiction drama as is again in 2018.. that too for current age Indian viewers having so many non TV options for regular entertainment at their disposal and also multiple TV channels to chose every day on remote, both free & paid ones..😛
And if one reads past Kasuati story tracks seems its was always about separations, leaps, multi marriages/cross marriages, multi children, multi spouses, triangles to quadrangles, vamps OTT crime drama, kids paternity unknown raised by only one parent, bone marrow/cancer/accident of kids, custody case, compromised deal based remarriages, next generation leaps, their love stories, their separations etc. where main track was HARDLY about so called 20's forever young main leads (Anuraag & Prerna) which Ekta now claims to be requiring only fresh young actors still in their early 20's and not any 30+ experienced actors to reprise those roles..😆.now will these 20's fresh actors agree to age so soon on Kasauti to become parents, uncles, aunts, grand parents etc. since its a remake and every track story movement/duration is known prior?
btw most BT soaps and non-BT soaps have over used all the above said tracks repeatedly many times in so many daily soaps of last decade...that most TV viewers crossed saturation point, so when every track becomes too predictable how will new or old Kasauti viewers sit before TV daily with some anticipation or excitement? 😕 And the kind of fake buzz Ekta & BT team have been creating last couple of weeks by using their PR's to purposely plant gossips in media.. does that hint their lack of confidence in content, production quality and also actors being hired?😳 (this remake definitely isn't a high budget soap unlike the old one)
One thing has been clear for a longest time, currently BT has severe scarcity of competent plus experienced writers, creatives and directors team to work on their new or existing daily or weekly fiction TV soaps and seems Ekta is not trying to fix visible problem or even allocating budgets on hiring talent but she is finding alternate easy escape routes to make existing small TV team also much more lazy..🥱 as her focus seems more on web series and movies and investment needed there and in getting better talent plus content..
