But I think he's genuinely very close to Ranbir. Heck I think he's actually closer to Aarti Shetty than Alia. It's just that Alia pots more pictures of herself out and about with others so it gives a false sense of what's going on, IMO.

Also I wouldn't put too much stock into how she captions things on social media. She also called Yasmine Karachiwala (trainer to celebs) the most important person in her life.

ETA: I think the London trip you are talking about from last year, Ayan was there with Aarti Shetty and Alia went for one of her regular "get away from Mumbai" trips to London. It's not unusual for different groups of celebs to be in London at the same time. I do remember Ayan going to New York with Ranbir and Katrina a few years ago on one of their New Years trips.

I agree that social media can give a false sense of the real dynamics but with Ayan and Alia I've always sensed it was genuine. I remember this one time he dropped her off at the airport and she has said he's her 2am friend and many times said he's her best friend.
