Deepika Padukone has always been open and straightforward about the events happening in her life, from battling through depression and anxiety because of her career to her heartbreaks. Deepika got candid with an interview with Evening Standard, as she talked about sexism and inequality she faced in her life before getting her stardom in Bollywood.
When Evening Standard asked about her take on #MeToo movement, she had so say "We're in the same position as the rest of the world, I think we're all in this together. There's so much more awareness. There are so many people who speak up and I think in the same way that we see the wheels moving in the right direction globally, I see the same thing happening in India as well'
Deepika also talked about sexism she has faced through her career stating as a model to being the top-level actress; her take on sexism and said , "There were lots of things I was advised [to do]. To get a boob job, do the beauty pageants. They felt it was the right way to be recognized or picked up by a Bollywood director or producer. It might be an easier way to achieve what you want to achieve. But I haven't been that person; I've always followed my gut.
Deepika Padukone's last release was Padmaavat, was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and also starred Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. Padmaavat released on January 25, 2018, which made her news sensation for most of the time because of her role and which made the movie go hit at the box-office.
Deepika is rumoured to be starring in a Wonder Woman inspired superhero film.
