Jaiprakash Maheshwari is Sameer' Nanu

not shown sameer real surname not even we know sameer dad name

Sameer Legally adopted by Nanu or Sameer adopt nanu's surname

Sameer's adopted by his Nanu and he has always used this name..

When nanu got vishakha remarried, he legally adopted sameer and gave his entire property to him.

That was a blooper initially which we have assumed to be correct now. In the initial episodes, Sameer's nanu was shown as Kabra. Sameer picks up chachi's call n says Kabra residence...whom do you wanna speak to? This made sense then Sameer would have his father's surname which should have been Maheshwari. Plus, if his father died naturally, no point in changing his surname.

Sorry to say but it was not said Kabra residence. I watched the episode again & it was said Kamala residence most probably bunglow in the name of Nani.I thought to share with you.Rewatch it & here it properly.

Even if he said kabra residence it makes sense as Maheshwari is a caste and not just a surname. I am a Maheshwari by caste but don't use that as my surname. But whoever uses Maheshwari as their last name also have another family surname. Some people only use maheshwari and some use either of it.

Also I have seen families who break all ties with their daughter in law and grand children after death of their son. This happens mostly when the husband dies few years into marriage. As in those days people have many children and re marriage was not a norm. In such case a widow with children was seen as a huge responsibility or burden if I could call that. So other kids would force parents to send the widow of their brothers back to her parental house and break all ties so that they dont claim any rights on family property.

So may be that's what happened after Sameer's dad died.
