It seems to be a good time for Television actors as more and more talented ones are being taken onboard by big banners for a Bollywood project. In August, it will be Tv's Naagin Mouni Roy who will be making her debut with Gold and now beau Mohit Raina will be making his big Bollywood debut with Uri. Mohit who shot to fame with his role as Mahadev in the mythological show, Devon Ke Dev - Mahadev.
In Uri, the actor will be seen playing the role of an Indian Army Officer. Set in Jammu and Kashmir, the movie will revolve around the 2016 Uri attack which had left 19 Indian soldiers dead. Following this deadly attack, the Indian army retaliated with a series of surgical strikes across the borders.
The actor played an Indian army officer in his last TV show as well. When Bombay Times quizzed Mohit on the same, he said, "It was my dream to join the Indian Army. Since that never got fulfilled, I make up for it by playing a soldier whenever I get a chance. Also, I have always taken up challenging roles on television. So, though I love commercial films, I wanted something different for my film debut as well. Uri has actors like Vicky Kaushal and Paresh Rawal, and it will be a learning experience working with them. Whether it is mythology, history or any other genre, the role has to be backed by strong content.
On Uri attack, Mohit added, "Nation always comes first, and I feel that it is a great opportunity to be part of a film that portrays the incident.
