John Abraham would like to put his money on Germany for World Cup 2018

We all know that John Abraham, who is riding high on the success of his latest outing Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran', is a football enthusiast and it comes no surprise that he is excited about the FIFA World Cup 2018 that is being held in Russia.
When he was asked by a leading daily about the team he is going to support, John jokingly said that he will be supporting the team North East United that he owns in Indian Super League (ISL). He also went on to say that he supports his country but in terms of other attractive teams, he would like to put his money on defending champions Germany.
Interestingly, John has played professionally in the Indian A-Division games and is often seen playing football at charity matches alongside fellow actors Ranbir Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan. Both Kapoor and Bachchan own football teams of their own. While Bachchan junior owns Chennaiyin FC, Ranbir Kapoor heads the Mumbai City FC.
The actor's upcoming projects are Satyameva Jayate', Batla House' and Romeo Akbar Walter', for which he has started working already.

Are you following the World Cup? Who are you supporting?

I am German but they have already won so and I have always been Ronaldo's fan from the time I was 14 in 2006. With Ronaldo I am referring to the original Brazilian legend.
I oont want Germany to win this time, I want them however to get far in the cup, maybe 2 or 3rd. They played horribly yesterday so maybe that was their wake up call.

I am for Ordem& Progresso only. 😎

I've been supporting Germany since 2002. I also have a soft spot for the Netherlands coz of the language 😆 (They're not there this time though 😭)

And all the African countries coz they're like my neighbours.

Argentina and then to some extent Brazil...have supported Argentina since 2006 WC...

rest I am neutral and enjoy football...

Who is going to win the WC?IMO favs r Germany and France...Germany on these tournaments have always performed well and r well oiled unit who knows to play as a team though I feel they won't win this time...France have a strong squad...Belgium have a strong squad but they go missing in these big tournaments...

Well my fab since small has been England because of Beckham and United connection.
But England can have only one cup and that is tea cup.

I do think Germany, Brazil and Spain are the favorites with Portugal(especially after the inspired first match performance) and France having outside chance.

Other than that, others look bleak.

Portugal & Spain produced the best game so far, Ronaldo was on fire. Some great teams at the World Cup. I think the ones except England & Argentina, despite having Messi have got a chance. Argentina struggled in the qualifying rounds & failed to beat Iceland, & England always bottle it at the World Cup & are not good enough, so I think others in the poll are ahead of them. I'd like to see either France or Portugal win it.
