Any show could have pushed out N2 with the bakwas they showed. But still the show survived because of RoShiv chemistry and Shesha and Yamini. Otherwise with the bakwas tracks they wrote, the show would have shut shop real soon.

OK, so the leads of the show don't have any hand in the TRP. Wow, that's like saying that PreeRan have no role in Kundali bhagya's TRP and AbhiGya have no role in Kumkum bhagya's TRP. You are forgetting that the show had high TRPs before Rudra's entry and after his exit. I have nothing against Rudra but giving the entire credit for a show's success to a side character is just not done. N1 was sold as Ritik and the naagin's story, who later turned out to be Shivanya. Likewise, N2 was sold as Shivangi, Rocky, Shesha and Yamini's story. I still remember seeing a 2 minute clip by Colors TV where they said that this is Shivangi's love story with Rocky and also Shivangi's revenge story against Shesha and Yamini. Rudra was just a side character like Anshuman with a slightly more SS. I used to actually like Rudra until he fell in love with Shivangi and the character got messed up from there. I still don't understand Ekta's obsession with making the side characters fall in love with the leads. She did the same thing Shesha in 2 seasons and completely butchered her character. Then she did it with Rudra too. I was really glad when Anshuman didn't end up falling in love with Shivangi and genuinely helped RoShiv without any ulterior motives.

N1 was number 1 but N2 was not number 1 consistently because the story sucked. Hopefully N3 will regain number 1 title due to the fresh storyline.

Actually, if you go back and check the TRP's, the ratings were decreasing rapidly before Rudra's entry. People actually liked the story with him involved. After he died, the ratings again started falling. The couple in S2 was widely dissed for their lack of chemistry. Tellychakkar themselves complained about the unrealistic lovestory and poor chemistry in its review. And throughout the run of S2 no news site raved about the couple or their chemistry, unlike Rivanya where channels and news portals couldn't stop talking about AB-Mouni's sizzling chemistry.

N1 was sold as Rivanya's story but N2 was not sold as Rocky-Shivangi story, love or otherwise. It was sold as Shivangi's revenge saga which was partly about Shivanya's revenge for her parents death. Rocky was not shown in even 1 promo before the show aired and even after it did, most of the focus was on Shivangi and her revenge. Most of the audience tuned in to see Shivangi, Shesha and Yamini, not for the lovestory. Rudra was a side character, yes but he was well loved. Sadly, the bad writing and storyline left Rocky looking like a fool and being used by evil people. Heck, they even made him consummate his marriage with Shivangi for revenge.

Anyway, N2 is done and gone, let's stick to S3 and it's discussion.
