Though did you notice that Naira signs prints of something Kirti scanned. No court would accept such papers where one sign was scanned and the other in ink. LOL. She should have couriered the papers.

I think those were not divorce papers but some property papers.

If we notice the papers carefully while they were being signed by Kartik n Naira, we can clearly see that there were certain points related to some accident. So am pretty sure it's something related to accident only.

As the person said below, karthik has withdrawn all involvement from akshara dance academy, and even naira has let go of her rights over the academy. How pathetic is this though. What a mockery of ashara's memories too. Not that I was a fan of yeh rishta during akshara-naithik phase, and only started watching when kaira came, but this was actually quite terrible.
