Chapter 42 Is love anything beyond a question?
They walked into an eerie silent mansion, Maan hadn't let go of Geet throughout the journey holding firmly onto her hand and to Vicky it seemed like a unspoken warning, hence he was wise enough to remain behind when walking and sat at the front allowing Maan and Geet time to understand what happened. Truth be told, even he was shocked with his brother's act however he was also glad that Geet got her true recognition.
'Dadima kaha hai' Maan asked looking around, the lights were dimmed and there seemed to be no life residing in the big cold house. Geet had finally gained the courage to tug her hands away feeling ever so cautions of Maan's warm hands into her sweaty panicky ones
'I don't know' Vicky answered, subconsciously he was very close to adding 'bhai' but stopped in the nick of time and right on cue Meera emerged from Dadima's bedroom looking tired and worn out
'KYA HUA?' Maan shouted running up the fleets of stairs in a hurry, forgetting the resentment that roused in his being a few second ago feeling Geet pull her hand away, trying to be discreet but of course he felt it. He felt everything around Geet these days!
'Dadima?' Geet and Vicky questioned looking at one another and then followed pursuit, up the stairs and into Dadima's room
'SHHH please after so much hard work she has finally gone to sleep' Meera whispered pleading to Maan and then eased away towards Vicky, Maan and Geet watched how easily she glided to him and then fit into the cervix of his body, like a turtle in it shells hiding away in the cocoon and freeing away from stress as Vicky also smiled in peace. They then looked at one another, as if asking for the same, as if questioning if that comfort would ever be possible between them, but Geet was the first to look away and watch Dadima sleep, her body rise and fall in sync and Geet couldn't help to feel hurt and a little jealous. Meera had everything from love of a partner to the care of dadima. Yes dadi cared for her too, but what Meera and Dadima shared was much more pure, a closer bond. Forgetting that she had what Meera didn't, the love of many fathers in her household. The mind acknowledges the missing values of life more than appreciating the warmth already present, and Geet too was experiencing the same. Holding onto the unleashed tears, she silently walked out the room and into her cold dark room at the far corner of the deserted hall. She chose this room to be away from him and his room, and away she was, both physically and emotionally, and even romantically.
Maan was the next to walk out, a part of him was also jealous seeing his younger brother so happy and content but he couldn't blame none but himself, and then another part was happy seeing that serene smile of Vicky's face which he couldn't ever plaster on his bother's face, again he was jealous that Meera could evoke such a pure and pristine smile. Unknown his legs carried to his hearts way and found himself in front of her door, hand raised in a knock and even before he could comprehend he had knocked and then stepped into her room. Bella cooed in her sleep, and Geet stood in front of the large window staring at the evening sun. It was time for it to say goodbye, the orange hues in the pink sky celebrated the end of another accomplished day, yet the yellow peaking sun looked sad, like he wasn't ready to die another day just like her. Yes somewhere her heart rejoiced when he announced not to the world, then at least to his people that she was his wife but yet he couldn't make her feel like the wanted wife alone, in the confines of their home.
Geet everything will be good' he had stated firmly holding onto her hand as she looked his way with glistened eyes and then looked away, every fibre within his body wanted to scream how much he loved her, how much he wanted her and yet when she looked away he lost his willpower to do anything other than hold onto her hand and let his heart convey his soul's message. Was it delivered?
'so jao Geet for a bit, it's been a long day'
'no I'm not tired' she answered still looking ahead as he gently pulled her hand and walked towards the bed, he then gestured for her to get in and she did, her heart was always following his command but her mind was get again counterfeiting a world where they were everything but this Maan and Geet.
'Relax for a while, until dadi wakes up and then we have a marriage to sort out, remember?' he smiled and she smiled too forgetting everything; her worries, her pains and the day's events.
'Sab teek hoga na Maan' she asked thinking of Seema, Meera, Vicky and herself
'Sab perfect hoga' he answered thinking only of himself and her, he then pecked her forehead and stroked her hair watching her eyes grow droopy and fall into a fitful sleep.
'I so love you Geet' he whispered in a haze watching her beautiful face contort in worry to which she relaxed immediately, he didn't know whether it was his warm hands or his unaccustomed words but needless to say he liked the change it brought within her instantly and then he repeated the words and then repeated again; until his mind, body and soul recognised the feeling elicited from his mouth. He was in love, madly truly in love.
'I love you' he uttered with a serene smile and she too smiled in her sleep. He then got up and walked away, readying himself for the war ahead unfortunately he didn't look back to the sleeping beauty whose smile broke and a whimper escaped, maybe she was having a nightmare or maybe she was living the realty of her life, or maybe simply maybe she missed his warmth, his care in her neglected life.
'Vicky make sure you book for the earliest registration appointment' he demanded over dinner, Dadima and Meera sat on either side of Vicky, Maan at the head and Geet beside him on a side of her own watching the people in love sit on the other side, in a comparable world. She had woken up again to a cold and distant room much like her life. Maan had his own love and she well, she was the cursed bird neither loved or hated but merely forgotten and that hurt, hurt like no other feeling. She watched them converse, sing songs about happy time to which even she added her own suggestions when approached but was she happy, how can one be happy being forgotten, her husband seemed in a world of his own and Vicky was nice enough to mould her into his world but even then the room was too little and her hopes were too big.
'Maan I'm so proud of you son' Dadima declared for the first time after dinner freezing Maan who was walking away from his family as they walked to the sitting area, Vicky and Meera whispering in little glee, a smiling Geet following and Dadi proudly standing a few feet away looking towards him as he stopped and stared. The feeling that enveloped him was so foreign, so new yet it felt like a new life burst within him and unknown to him, he had followed, forgetting his motive to be away and instead found himself sitting between dadima and Geet. Vicky had continued retelling the plan to Meera, and Geet then had followed when Meera looked on for assurance. The lovers found it so hard to believe that life could be great, Maan had then told them that the work has already begun as his friend has taken police and after some coaxing Seema was ready to file a complaint against the abusive husband even her father.
Dadima looked at her family with beady eyes, oh how far have they come from being 3 people living in one big mansion to being a family yet she knew they had miles to walk until the final destination. The ringing phone excused Maan, and then he came back with an upturned face trying to restrain the worry that was emerging.
'Kya hua beta?' Dadi addressed with love and care, and he immediately smiled loving the feel and recognition it served
'Ermmm things are a little tricky, seems like I will have to go New Zealand and sort it out' He announced and then promised a watering Meera to bring back her older sister. He looked at Geet to gorge her reaction, they had lived afar but not away, and this was probably the first time he was to travel away from her, to a different country altogether.
'No Vicky I can't afford you or Meera joining and nor can you go alone, Meera's father seems a little demented, sorry Meera; but I don't think we can take the risk. Let me know as soon as you've booked a date, I'll try to finish everything before then' Maan uttered in seriousness between the protest made by the two but his soft eyes were only on Geet contemplating her reaction and like usual a number of emotion fore played, however sadness he noticed was one of them. Was she sad that he was going away from her just like him?
'Maan about what happened in office today..' Geet started entering his study as Maan collected a few items, it was beyond midnight and he had forced Dadima to sleep, Vicky and Meera too were winding down after spending ample of time with Geet.
'Geet not now ok, I promise to answer everything once I am back' he silenced positioning a commanding finger to her lips, the slight opening allowed her breath to fan his finger and currents of jolt flowed in parallel circuits flushing both their cheeks in lighting red. She had only managed to nod before he engulfed her into a warm hug and kissed into her hair, ever so light that she missed the act altogether, all she felt was his warm hands enveloping around her and his beating chest that lay below her head as her small hands wrapped around his waist. She had collected all her power to ask him about his declaration yet his one act silenced everything, and the hug just warmed her centre and the she let ago all her worries and fears and basked in his arms. Those arms that were to fly away tonight to foreign shores until Seema wasn't in India, safe and sound. As a friend and wife she was proud, but as a scared wife she was fearful.
Sameer hadn't had any time to think of the reason of why he was called here? However, he only cared about one thing; separating Meera from Vicky and who better than this man himself, he was the man who proposed a parliamentary seat in exchange for Meera. And if anything he was a possessive man! Time was broodingly slow, his flight had been severely delayed and he arrived at the wee hours of the morning even before he could announce his arrival, a car was already waiting. Bulging armed men showed him to the car seat, speaking very minimal as he fought against his luggage half expecting them to help but neither did they look nor did they help.
'I've arrived' he answered as the car moved along the silent roads and edged closer to the barricaded barren abode of the desolate prince.
'It's f**king took you long enough' he answered, his deep voice sounding extremely angry. If Sameer thought why was this man fuming he never asked instead listened for further instruction but none came instead the ringing off tone appeared and Sameer breathed in relief.
'You or anyone touch Seema again, and I swear I'll break YOUR legs' Adeel Rana warned calling again and Sameer felt his breath hitch as shock currented into his dreadful being breaking out in a dreadful sweat.
Note: It has indeed been a long day, I reckon the day had 4/5 parts lol and even then it hasn't ended yet Lol. Blimey sorry the story is moving slowly yet figuratively this day has marked such a big milestone. As for this Maan, I never promised a conventional hero however I do hope you all accept him in the end? I am liking how some have warmed up to him including I, lol
And Sanj, there you go, is Rana your hero again? He's grey, he might not be the hero but he isn't a bad man well I'll leave you lot to decide that after reading what I have planned. Oh boy Sanj don't kill me ok, he's possessive so it allows me to play him the way I like and he will find a love story too but I don't think you will be too pleased, Dreamer however you'd love it. Flame you might like it too. I think that in itself is the biggest revelation!
Vrinda you've said it yourself that a villain will only bring them together, but are you sure Rana is a villain?
JM I love you, I've missed you and glad to know Adeel Rana was your favourite character, he is mine too after Basher Momim. I loved how he threw that glass of water on that girl's when she claimed to be pregnant with his baby, blimey that was my wish and it happened lol. It had me jumping lol, he was a badass character and a total bitch too lol. The marriage at gun-point actually forced me to watch the show in the first place. Why do I like dramatic stuff so much?
Thank you all and sorry for not replying, might to next time. Anyway let me announce a little leap in the story, by a week or a few days. Let's get this story moving and edge slower to the finishing line.
