I dont think Namrata's character even exist in the Tamil version. Its not because the new comer will be a cheap alernative but it's because they didn't know what to do with her except making her fall for Rahul. If they couldn't afford her they could always end her character.
They could have done a lot with Namrata without making her character turn negative. Why are Indian makers so obsessed wth love stories? Is it absolutely necessary to make a FL fall for the ML? Rahul, Namrata and Gauri together could have solved the mystery.

Look at Angels and Demons the movie as there is no love story in it!!!!
If there are two female leads both have to fall for the hero and one will turn negative!!!!
That is the ground rule!!!
