become a big hit with the audience as well
as the critics. Rani is a doting mother to
Adira Chopra and talked about her
daughter's reaction to her film in an
interaction with Deccan Chronicle.
Rani said, "When you are single you can't
imagine what it would be like to be married
and become a mother. Today, I feel just
great about being Adira's mom. During the
show of Hichki at YRF studious, when Adira
accompanied me, she surprised me by
running around the studio where posters of
the film were put up, saying yeh toh meri
mama hai'. She also danced to the song
Madamji. Watching her do all this fills my
heart with pride. I am thoroughly enjoying
being a mother.
When asked about current female actors
being more open about their pregnancy and
continuing to work while being pregnant,
Rani said, "There is no question of hiding or
showcasing one's pregnancy. It's a natural
phenomenon and a personal choice. Also, if
someone prefers to go outdoors or stay
completely indoors while pregnant it is the
individual's choice.
She further added, "There are certain beliefs
followed by all communities regarding
pregnancy. Bengalis are not allowed to go
out of the house for the first four months. I
followed the same thing. Whether a heroine
looked beautiful or whether she roamed
outdoors while pregnant, etc., are all
irrelevant discussions.
About motherhood, she told news agency
IANS in a recent interview, "There are
certain emotions, things and fears that I
have which I never had when I was single. I
was quite carefree but today, I just
suddenly feel a really different
emotion which I have not felt.
