1. The actor who never misses to amaze was named after yesteryear actor and 60s-70s star Manoj Kumar. Few would know actor Manoj Kumar decided to name himself after his idol Dilip Kuamr's character in 1949 movie Shabnam.
2. Manoj Bajpayee was born in a small village named Belwa in Bihar. His father was a farmer and a young Manoj helped in farming. Though, he desired to be an actor since his childhood.
3. This may come as a shocker to many Manoj Bajpayee fans that the actor thought of committing suicide! Yes, the Dastak actor wanted to commit suicide after he was rejected by prestigious National School of Drama on three occasions.
4. So do you think his aspiration of being a National School of Drama die out? Hell, no. Manoj joined director and acting coach Barry John's workshop on actor Raghubir Yadav's suggestion. Manoj Bajpayee left Barry so impressed that he offered the Bihari lad to assist him. 5. Aligarh is not the only association between Manoj Bajpayee and director Hansal Mehta. In fact, Manoj did a television 1994 serial called Kalakaar which was directed by Hansal.
6. His days of struggle would put anyone to shame. Manoj Bajpayee's initial years in the City of Dreams, Mumbai were tough and demotivating. He shared a chawl with six people, would go hungry for days and despite being ashamed would go to friend's house in hopes of having meal!
