I am a Tamilian too, and I found it funny. The Rajnikanth style and all. Loolll.
True, they aren't called Appa, and I haven't ever eaten Ragi Idli, I am gonna ask my Mom to make Ragi Idli. But yeah, out of curiosity, I Googled Ragi Idli, and in one of the episodes, they did show some brownish Idli. Lol.
And about the Hindi, only KK and Rao have the accent, and I actually like the accent. The kids have a Punjabi Mom. Lol.
Well, I know people who have stayed in the north for long, the older generations that is, and still speak Hindi with a South Indian accent. However, they use Telugu words only. Not Tamil, I guess. Coz I haven't heard them speak one Tamil word. I heard chorpu once I don't know what it means.
And I mentioned this elsewhere as well. I know South Indians don't eat Idli Dosa everyday and they are showing it in a very stwreotstereo manner. But I guess they don't have much choice when it comes to the language and food. Coz, it's a Hindi show, it's very difficult to portray true South Indian culture while speaking in Hindi. So they do try this way. If you watch Maharashtrian based shows, they show Poha everyday, but they dont eat Poha everyday. Punjabis are shown to have paratha, Gujarati have Khichdi. This is just an attempt to show the culture. Yeah they can research more but I guess it's okay.

Technically, telugu people from border towns like raichur, kurnool sometimes call their father as Appa. Some of my Reddy friends do call their father as Appa. That could explain the ragi idli too. Ragi is most eaten in Karnataka. As ragi is a big part of the cereals consumed in Karnataka and Andhra border. Ragi mudde, roti, dosa are very common. A mix of this and that.
But i think the show just has the typical south Indian stereo type.

Guys just chill.
For once we have an interesting storyline with a lot of promise, well developed characters, great acting. All rare features as you will all admit in our staple offerings on TV.

So why don't we just enjoy the journey instead of nitpicking?

By the way I am a pure South Indian too. Tamil to be exact with a lot of awareness on Reddy families.

I am enjoying the show. I prefer to overlook these details as ultimately in the larger picture they really are not important.

Let's just be happy that for once the south does get represented and Bihar as well and enjoy the show given all the positives!!

We should allow the CVs to concentrate on the storyline and not on assuaging ruffled telugu feathers. Do you agree??

Now KK without his raagi idli breakfast regimen will just not be the same right?:D

It;s OK!! Chill guys. My humble request.

I think they have rectified quite a bit. For starters, Srikant called KK "Nanna in the last episode and KK's fluency in Hindi has increased manifolds. All of a sudden, he's gotten rid of the accent in most scenes. The PH definitely prowls social media for reviews and I guess, your concerns are being addressed gradually. That's a great move on part of the writers, really. Looking forward to an engaging story!

And they are back to calling him Appa!😛

Since they are not representing entire households of south, they can call whatever they want. That should not be a issue.
If they represents spmething most imp in negative or disappropriate way, it shld worry us.
Till then lets enjoy the show keeping aside these things

It's difficult for non-southies to differentiate between certain qualities exclusive to a particular southern state!! That's why all southies in Mumbai are called Madrasis!! 😊 Doesn't matter. Eventually, once the character gels with the audience, these become trivial. Best part is the script and the actors. So far, so good. Beautiful love story. EDKV had its moments. But the abrupt end spoiled a lot of things.

Let's hope this story is told just the way it is - till the end. I admire the actors playing the fathers! Very good indeed...
