Also Digital viewership in that sense if we talk about Amazon, Netflix is not of the masses. Not everyone will want to pay a subscription fees to watch TV shows especially lets be honest we don't know how good these are. They're no game of thrones or stranger things.

But the point of low budget movies - even Netflix hasn't managed to do it well in the West and even we won't. Indian audience like you said is old school. I think it is good they're trying digital but the sheer volume is quite shocking. ALT Balaji must have considered some research before doing this, lets see the numbers. As of now buzz is low.

yeah its really surprising how ekta kapoor is making BIG SHOWS on Digital TV - that includes po*n, (Ragini MMS) and primarily for youth and now she has made it fully packaged including family shows too..but how many people would watch them?? I am only wondering how money she would actually be getting out of it after investing so much 😕

For actor/actress (mainly flop ones) it offers visibility, substantial earnings and less hectic schedule. While makers are getting revenue frm subscriptions but not sure if thts enuf to recover production cost? ALT Balaji actually has some good shows like Haq Se and KKHH which could work well on TV especially the latter.

but i read in an article that the quality of these web shows is similar to TV means they are shot in the format to TV shows and uploaded digitally..isn't it expensive enough?? that's the concern I have about how these investors would recover such huge production cost...yeah ADS are there but are they really enough. the business is yet to suck in

Really? Well, from wat I noe they are pre shot over a span of few months then uploaded. So in a way it's less expensive compared to TV serials which are shot daily and run for years. Yea, don't noe the technicalities of revenue but surely there must be a way hence ppl are investing.
