So beautifully put so so beautiful Anu 👏 take a bow . Aww thanks, Deep :)
you know I want to add something , fans may say she coming across as vindictive , demeaning to Sid , I mean he isn't less , he is expressive and he has his own way of expressing while she can't , omg such a telepaty I said the same thing in cc that this exact homely vibe , ek apna pan hai they would find each other down the road once they will open for communication and it is only possible with the flow they going with , it is too early to ask anything , abhi din hi kitne huye hain ? hardly week in reel timing . Oh absolutely...all this is just gussa and naaraazgi that's hardened over time...being back in each other's presence after 6 years is anyways shaking things up...already Anushka has moved on from avoiding him to now actively seeking him out to poke at him😆...aise hi ladte jhagadte, they'll find a way to open up and communicate eventually I feel...sometimes when the shell has hardened so much, opening it up will take a few scratches in the process too.what attracted to me the most from this show is , bhut time hogya we haven't watched something sensible "pun intended " 🤣 you know what I mean . ROFL dude I can't tell you how WEIRD I'm feeling writing proper THOUGHT out stuff about a show after ages rather than just making do with stand alone scenes😆...I feel all rusty...lol do I even remember how to discuss a show like this anymore? 😆...standards have lowered SO much on TV aajkal ki itna bhi discussion fodder wala show nahin miltaeven I said before I liked KK but now mujhe woh bhi self centered lagta hai , there is no open communication with reddy's khaandaan , they say we have nothing to hide but they take their own sweet time , no one is mature hell who is ? KK is also an enigma to me...I feel there's a lot still yet to be revealed about him...all we know so far is his business/ruthless side, his friendship with Prabhakar and his love for Anushka...I think there's sides still left to see...Reddy family has major power politics going on even under the guise of affability...hahAnushka and sid , they challenge each other thru their poking , and it is the only way they know now to communicate and I for one think its pretty acceptable , ek toh they would learn from here what went wrong , ? how do we go from there ? why we made or making mistakes ? given the fact baat kuch bhi nahi hai , both are over sensitive , takes it in pride and keep distant in their own quip ways Baat toh hai kuch...but jab yeh log finally baat karenge, tab shaayad na lage utni baat...lol ya phir lag bhi sakti hai cuz again, both are over sensitive, trying to hold on to their pride in their own ways...so I think inka back and forth chalega for a bit...and I suppose that's what is intriguing to watch too...that journey of how they tackle these unresolved feelings
Suffice to say, Siddhant is probably everyone's fav. character in this show right now and quite justifiably so😆...he has the charm, the swagger, the lines to draw anyone in...he is quite direct in expressing many of his emotions, even if some of that is smokescreen to hide his real hurt.
Anushka however is a bit more enigmatic right now...so here's a few thoughts as I attempt to understand her.The core, the very basis of the show is the unresolved feelings between Sid-Anushka...it colors every interaction b/w them...and the few glimpses we have of the past seem to indicate that once there was immense trust and care b/w them...until it was brutally shattered...Heartbreak is processed in different ways by different ppl...even more so by men and women, I suppose...atleast that's what appears to be the case with Sid and Anushka...they are both heartbroken but have tackled it in different ways...Sid threw himself more deeply into his drive to make a big success of himself...Anushka in many ways retreated into a shell (even though she claims to have gotten smarter) with all the years spent in New York...I was especially struck by this during her convo with KK at night after her dance and he asks her a simple question, "Why do you dance by yourself at night?"..."Why don't you go out and live life?"...that flicker of deep pain in her eyes then before she brushes off the question saying she's happy to be at home with her family...then even more sadness in her voice when she says, "Puraane dost toh sab peechhe chhoot gaye"...these little moments give a glimpse into the immense hurt and pain that Anushka has walled up inside herself all these years...it has hardened her in many ways...but she is still more fragile than she realizes.
It's funny b/c this is exactly what Sid says when he reminisces on having hurt her! 'Nazuk ki nazuk rahegi'. She may have brought up this wall between herself and Sid, may have gotten the ice queen expressions down to a T, but I don't think it would take much for all of that to come crashing down. Especially now with Sid back in her life. She seems to constantly be on edge and constantly teetering from trying to be Anushka Reddy to trying not to be the Anu that Sid once knew. Her main goal appears to be not to let anyone hurt her ever again...by anyone, she simply means Sid😆...cuz hardly anyone else affects her like Sid does...she knows it, resents it, and is still helpless against it...so in this jumble of emotions, all she can do is be snippy with him...and he easily obliges her by snipping back many times 😆...it's obvious in so many scenes...first comes the hyper awareness...his eyes, his body language goes on instant ALERT around her😆...she sees him, her face falls, her eyes harden, or she'll roll her eyes...then a few minutes later, if they aren't arguing, they'll be helplessly staring at each other😆...and these two really put the STARE into staring😆...all kinds of staring going on...sometimes it's just watchful staring and you can see them acutely noticing every little thing about each other...sometimes it's gusse waali staring going on😆, sometimes it's a flash of hurt waali staring going on...but the staring must continue in every situation😆All kinds of staring going on omg dkm 🤣 They really do do the entire staring longingly at each other until they melt the screen thing SO well 😆I suppose it's kinda impossible to not talk about Sid when talking about Anushka...lol cuz their emotions are so closely interlinked together...ironically, without realizing even their actions mimic each other...Sid is usually the expert at passing comments or taunting ppl around him but Anushka seems to reserve all her taunting just for him...as if she's learnt it all from him only😆...and decided to apply it on him...any time he tries to show her a little courtesy or kindness also, she finds a way to poke at him, put him down...like refusing his handkerchief and instead passing a comment about whether all the lawyers in Delhi had died that her brother had to go and work with Sid...lol ...shades of hurt and heartbreak yet again...she is hurting so deeply inside, she cannot abide softening around him...so out comes harshness.
It's funny because Sid's taunting Anushka isn't as jarring as hers comes off. Sid taunts but it seems to be very hollow, almost empty. As if he's taunting in the intention of getting her to remember their lives before. But Anushka's taunting is very deliberate and hurtful, she knows where to hit him so it will hurt the most. But then at the same time, she is helpless in other ways like drowning in guilt when she feels she may have hurt him with the comment about him not being ready for a bigger position in the company...she is quick to call Sid "baahar waala" when putting him down in front of her brother but when others in her family mock or put down Sid, she always looks uncomfortable...lol...she rolls her eyes endlessly when he pulls his cocky swagger in front of her...but she'll still walk into his room as if helplessly drawn by the pull of the past...The other thing I find really interesting about Anushka as well as Sid is the right they feel on each other...she scolds him with an apnapan even as she chides him for his tactics...and Sid, even in his resentment expresses an apnapan towards her...Six years have passed yet the bond of a very strong friendship still lingers...that strong sense of familiarity they have with each other even as awkwardness has otherwise crept it...makes for an interesting paradox to view.
Exactly! They themselves don't realize the absolute haq they both exercise on each other. To know someone for so long and so well, and to then get to stage where you're almost strangers but not quite, is a dynamic this show has got down so well. Anushka and Sidhanth exist in each other's orbits, they always have, even time could not dictate their eventual falling together. So that when they do come together, it comes off harsh yet soft, they can be stand offish and staring so hard they'd melt the sun, within seconds.I would add a note here that Palak does do a fine job of emoting Anushka's conflicted, more fragile side...Her emotional breakdown in epi 1 in particular makes me see promise in her as an actress...hope to see her grow over the course of this series.Agreed! I've read a lot of comments in the forum saying Palak isn't a good actress, but her strength is her eyes. She is so GOOD at emoting through her eyes and body language. She can get awkward during certain scenes, but she has an overall softness and charm to her. There's something about her you can't quite place your finger on and just like Anushka, she comes off as enigmatic because of it.

Word...it's the gap b/w perception and reality...Sid is able to see past her attempts to show herself as tough...he sees what she is unable to see herself or refuses to see herself...We are shown a whole host of things she's allergic to, sneezing all the time and then even managing to hurt herself...these are all just metaphors for what is essentially a very tender and hurting heart...Sid's comment that day may have been for how easily she got physically hurt but it also unwittingly spoke of the deeper hurt that her easily bruised heart has suffered. As you very rightly said, she's trying very hard to not be the Anu that Sid knew, the one that invariably instantly connects with him...but she's kinda fighting a losing battle there...lolYou know what I'm curious about? Their first impressions of each other as kids😆
All kinds of staring going on omg dkm 🤣 They really do do the entire staring longingly at each other until they melt the screen thing SO well 😆 haha yes they really do...and I'm not even a fan of mindless vapid eyelocks but these two do their staring pretty meaningfully...so much is conveyed simply through the act of them staring at each other cuz there is so much unsaid b/w them...so the eyes have to do the talking😆

As if he's taunting in the intention of getting her to remember their lives before. But Anushka's taunting is very deliberate and hurtful, she knows where to hit him so it will hurt the most. Good point...and that's probably part of the reason why ppl seem more put off by Anu's taunting...hers feels more deliberate and harsh than his...he toh goes around giving an almost affable vibe even to his mocking...his protective streak for her is more obvious despite his anger at her...while in Anu's case, as you said, she knows his sore points and deliberately strikes out to hurt him...but then the fact that she herself drowns in guilt afterwards rather than feeling smug satisfaction shows there is no joy in this for her.

Word...so beautifully put👏...that is indeed a dynamic this show has gotten down surprisingly well and that's what's pulled me in too I feel.Agreed! There's something about her you can't quite place your finger on and just like Anushka, she comes off as enigmatic because of it. So glad to read this...lol I was starting to feel I was the only one feeling oddly intrigued by her...there are deffo moments where she does look awkward or falls flat but overall she's really surprised me with her subtle emoting...she's really quite different and yes just like Anushka, I can't place my finger on it...there is an enigmatic quality to her that does bring a different flavor. This was such a beautiful character sketch to read, I personally think Anushka's character is so layered that she's going to be delved into throughout the show. I think Sidhanth is more of a 'what you see is what you get' kind of character, that's not to say he's not complex or falls flat, but only that most of him has been shown to us. Whereas Anushka's been kept hidden. There are parts of her deliberately hidden and unfolding that will be interesting to see. She seems to have been written as many MLs before her: hardened, judgemental, ice cold. It's interesting to see these tropes spun for a FL. Rejected in love/friendship, resolved to no longer trust others, these are all quintessential of MANY MLs before her, but there's something about Anushka that's almost contradictory. She is both hard and soft. She is cold when it comes to Sid and certain situations, but she is all warmth and smiles when it comes to her family and things she loves. Heck she's warm to Sid when he's not looking at her (re: the infamous stairs scene 😆). She is endlessly fascinating and I cannot wait to discover more of her!But thank you again for this beautiful and poetic read on such a fascinating FL. I find myself constantly looking forward to your opinions in this forum!Aww thank you so much for the kind words! I must tell you that I've enjoyed reading your analyses in the forum too...thank you for providing so much good discussion fodder in the forum :)And I completely agree about Anushka being a layered FL...you make a great point about her being given characteristics usually reserved for a brooding ML...she's flawed and contradictory but not in a way so as to put off...the ability to be both hard and soft is what I find fascinating in her...as you've described so beautifully...we see her warmth with her loved ones...and yes she's warm to Sid whe he isn't looking...lol but then shuts down cuz of other reasons...so I'm deffo looking forward to discovering more of her layers too.
