Chapter 4"Hum aapko aise akele chhod ke nehi jaayenge..", Gauri declared when her mother insisted her to go Mumbai alone, leaving her in Pune..
Gauri's mother was flourishing at the field of tailoring in Pune..she didn't want to leave the place as she was earning well with her work of stitching clothes..moreover she didn't want to be a load on her daughter's shoulder...her little girl was already handling everything alone..and now when she has got the chance to help her out with some money she didn't want to miss it..
But Gauri was hesitant to leave her mother alone who was already sick..but then Trisha assured her that she would always be there with her mother..Gauri trusted Trisha..she knew that her friend treats her mother as her own and she will take care of her in her absence..but she wasn't fully convinced with her mother's reason of staying back in Pune..she would be getting a good amount of money from her job in Mumbai..she went through the details of the job she was offered and she got to know that Svetlana Kapoor wanted to hire her as her caretaker..the salary was enough for her to start her mother's treatment in a good hospital..so there's no need of her mother to work..but her mother was adamant..so not having any other choice she had to agree with her mother's obstinacy...
"Gauri..bachha main janti hoon tujhe meri fikar hain..lekin mujhe yahan koyi takleef nehi hogi..aur Trisha bhi toh hain mera dhyaan rakhne ke liye..", Gauri's mother assured her...
"Lekin hum aapke bina nehi reh sakte..", she said putting her head on her mother's lap...
Gauri's mother smiled at her..she knew her daughter loves her the most and it'll be tormenting for her to stay away from her mother..even she loves her daughter more than anything...but wasn't she supposed to get married one day and leave with her husband..! Of course she'll get married one day..she'll be known as someone's wife, someone's daughter in law..and someday she herself will become a mother..
The thought of her daughter getting married made her heart flutter with happiness..she always wanted her to start a new journey of life with her husband and her new family...she wanted to insure her happiness by giving her hand to someone who'll actually be able to love and cherish her..and she couldn't wait to see her little girl as a bride..
"Teri jab shaadi hogi tab toh mujhse durr rehna hi padega bachha..", her mother said massaging her sculp..
"Humein shaadi nehi karni..", Gauri jumped from her mother's lap and covering her head with dupatta she said, "Hum mandir ja rahe hain.."
Reaching the mandir she realised it was the day of Karwa Chauth..she was cursing herself for not remembering the day..as a married woman it's her duty to keep fast for her husband and pray for his long age..she looked at the women who were busy with theirs husbands..some of them were smiling at their husbands..some were preparing their pooja thali..some were running here and there to arrange the required things for the pooja..
"Gauri, tujhe pata hain..iss mandir mein har saal Karwa Chauth aise hi dhoom dhaam se manaya jata hain..", Trisha said to Gauri who was busy eyeing the married women..
All of them were looking beautiful in red..they looked happy and the happiness was evident by the glow on their face..
Watching the women glimmering with happiness, Gauri couldn't but feel jealous..even she is a married woman..even she has a husband whom her Shankar Ji has chosen for her..so she should have fasted for him..but is he worthy of all these..??
He is the man who married her without her consent..he saved her and then threw her on the road as if she was a trash..he called her names, questioned her character, accused her of being a home breaker...he never listened to her..he never tried to know if he was actually right about her..he didn't even give her a chance to explain her side of the story...
No..he is not worthy of being called her husband...he is not worthy of all the devotion..
But can she deny their marriage..??
Again it's a no..
She always believed in marriage..she always valued relationships..for her marriage happens once in a life and it lasts for a lifetime..it is the relation that seal the fate of two people..and Shankar Ji himself sent someone for her..then how can she deny him and their marriage..??
He might be her husband..but she has realised that he's not some God..he's just a human who is flawed and can make mistakes..he is not someone who should be worshipped..
She still respected their marriage..and she'll always do..she would have done everything for him only if he had accepted her..only if he had respected..only if he had not judged her...but maybe they were not destined to be together..maybe her Shankar Ji had some other plans for her..
"Kaash hum aur aap aise naa mile hote..kash aap sach ko dekh pate..kash aap humein samajh pate..toh shayad humari kahani kuch aur hoti..", she thought and a lone tear escaped her eye..
"Kaha khoyi hain tu, Gauri..??", Trisha tapped her shoulder..
"Kahi bhi toh nehi..", she put a smile on her face blinking away the tears..."Chal kam pe lag jaate hain..bohot kam hain humein.."
Dragging Trisha with her she started doing the works the priest asked her to..once again she successfully could mask her emotions..
Finally the forth chapter is here..*SIGHING IN RELIEF*
