I'm not into jodis, especially this jodi. That's beside my point. It's insulting to show a wife lying to her husband for no reason at all. We're supposed to "know" they're husband and enjoy their stupid romance when actually what they're showing is a wife who says she's not his wife and yet act like his wife. That's not a decent and respectable married couple relationship. Nothing real about their relationship.

Like that's not enough, they're drinking and romancing in the middle of fire? That's so tasteless and vulgar to me.

Good question @prozium. Who's actually watching these senseless episodes in the trp group? And why? I bet you they're all watching to mock this show. Why not? The CV's themselves are mocking Abhi and Pragya.

the writers themselves are confused that what passes as harmless romantic scene vs senseless romantic scenes. It is almost like directing a parody serial.

No but seriously, the indian trp tv audiences (i will not comment on the shows choices as that is an altogether different discussion, time and again moved away from their favourite shows. (balika Vadhu, Sasural Simar ka and countless others slipped in TRP) when they felt that nothing is progressing or get bored by tracks. Even I am not into jodis. And to be fair, the TRP viewers usually are not into jodis. Even if they for a very short time root for some jodi they usually get disoriented after a point of time. Yes i remember the Kyunki times (the slow 4 kbps 100 rs/hr cyber cafe times of 2002 when people protest for bring mihir back , but after a very short time the show completely moved from lead pair chemistry to "tulsi" only (which was okay as viewers - the trp audiences of metros or town or villages comprises of mainly housewifes and seeming they connect with the ideal bahus/saas and all. the same happened with another popular jodi (rajiv khandelwal (sujal)- aamna sharif (kashish) in kahin to hoga). the audience demographics havent changed much. A jodi cant run the show for long no matter how much good they are. So i am trying to understand how come this serial survive the TRP slump and all with absolute zero progression. Is it because people are connecting with pragya mahaanta and forgiving nature and taking all pain on herself nature?? Because to be fair abhi role has been reduced to being clueless (by his own doing, by medical condition or by his wife not telling him anything) and then cropping up here and there for manchild moments. .

@LA2725..Yes they are copying from themselves..and it is a coincidence that they first used this fake bloodcancer/let everyone hate me trick/track on their similar name show (kumkum- juhi parmar one)

Thank you Ann❤️ for that update. Sorry, a lot of you didn't like the episode. I found the episode HILARIOUS🤣. Here goes:

Before I go on to today's episode, couple of things about yesterday's episode. I had a late day yesterday and it was pretty late by the time I watched. I was a little uncomfortable after watching that, but exhaustion has taken over me. Just when did Abhi, Pragya share that kind of coziness where she is so comfortable sitting on his lap as they both eat? Don't get me wrong, I love it❤️As I watched Abhi yesterday, I was annoyed at his antics once the fire started. He stayed low in the fire. Right thing to do👍🏼But instead of getting the hell out of there, he crept back to investigate, not sure why? Instead of containing the fire, he opened out the source of fuel👎🏼And poured more fuel into the fire👎🏼That kitchen was open, why did he not get out of there ? I also didn't know why the writers decided to flip and put him in harms way instead of her😕May be for the following reasons: 1. Pragya can be taunted and blamed for the fire and his condition 2. Pragya can be made to cry and agonize 3. If Abhi is hurt, Pragya can be made taking care of him, vice versa is unthinkable for these cruel writers😡.

Contrary to what I felt yesterday, I thoroughly enjoyed today's episode😃No doubt it is utterly stupid, but what is wrong in having fun at the expense of utter stupidity of my favorite duo👏❤️I liked or have something to say about many lines from today's episode either because of their sheer naughtiness of those lines, or the pretentiousness of certain of them, I couldn't help but laugh out loud😆Hope I can keep them straight as I write this out... Here goes:

Episode started with Abhi calling out for Pragya. She got held back by Disha and Purab for a while and then she disappeared. Raj bhayya meanwhile thinks that he wishes Abhi dead, but has to put up an act for the family😡😕What the hell? Is he stupid as well😡? Why does he want his goose that lays a golden egg, dead? In case he is dead, if he didn't have a will, contrary to what this show preaches us, all the property would have gone to his wife, not to his sister or Raj bhayya or the🤬. If that happens, as a widowed wife of Abhi, why should Pragya entertain all the villains brigade in the house? The witches had their 1 min of verbal diarrhea against Pragya while everybody except my brother Purab, silently watch and listen😡Didn't like Purab's menacing step towards Aliya. Brother, let us tone it down, violence against women in any form is UNACCEPTABLE👎🏼

ID's lines were hilarious in their own way " Pragya is with Abhi and Maata raani is with Pragya, so she will bring him out safely"🤣Not to hurt anyone's feelings, but this line just touched a funny bone in me. What makes them think that a wisp of a girl, wearing a synthetic saree who runs and jumps into the fire has all the capabilities in this world at her disposal to save her husband?😲Purab's lines " why is it only my di's responsibility to save Abhi? I am Lakshman to my brother Ram🤣, I need to go in too"🤣🤣Guys, I am dying by this time🤣. The seriousness with which he delivered these lines😆, I don't know how they do this with a straight face.

Abhi, Pragya are total goners ❤️in today's episode. I liked the naughtiness in some of the lines such as " what are you doing there, douse the fire or come up here, let us put out the fire together" and " if you want bacche don't go there, come up here and his are you giving me a hint" had the right amount of naughtiness🤗👍🏼 between in love wala couple❤️ with no raunchiness. Loved all of those lines. Amidst a raging inferno, he is worried about a bottle of alcohol that might stoke the fireSo what is the plan? Let us drink it🤣Guys, I was thinking what if there is cooking oil or ghee or some other fuel in that God forsaken kitchen, would they have drunk it too🤡😈. I don't appreciate the usual line from RS " I can fulfill your wish to have babies". In case you missed it, Rockstar, she can fulfill your wish too😡I don't like the tone with which these lines are uttered as if the male has all the power in the world to procreate and a woman doesn't😡👎🏼. That discussion is for another day, another time, because if I get started on this, I won't stop. Moving on... Abhi totally forgot how rambunctious Pragya🤗getsif she has ANY alcohol😈and encouraged her to drink😲. I would love to see an adorably uncontrollable, exuberant Pragya❤️who got me hooked to this show in the first placeSriti as drunk Pragya just totally nails it when compared to Shabir❤️👍🏼Just amazing.

Finally, guys, I didn't think I am a sucker for this kind of romance but my enjoyment of today's episode proves me otherwise🤔. We have the best duo, Shabir, Sriti as Abhi, Pragya who are totally cuckoo and I am totally loving it❤️👍🏼I wish that the stupid fire brigade doesn't arrive for another couple of episodes🤢. It is kind of sad for me to be wishing for this, but seems like this is the only place where the daadis, Bubblies, vamps and witches wouldn't dare to go and our lovely couple are left to themselves🤗.

Totally loved the episode👍🏼Put your brain in your pockets and watch it for the sheer effervescence of the episode😃😃

That is it from me.

Nice review .
The details I would like .
Will watch it .

I don't see why regular viewers donot see why kkb is different from others .
Take it from me.
All those who copied the successful tracks from here have failed miserably.
No leaps.Young leads.Yet to consummate.No kids.
Decent story.
Other shows may have greater chemistry between the leads.
But abhigya make a greater Jodi because of my earlier said reasons.
Their romance has greater value.
One must be thankful that it's value never goes down.
Trp aunties like married couples.
Their romance.
Their fights n hardships in trying to unite repeatedly.
But the moment there is happiness n kids this show will come to a grinding halt .
It will become the run of the mill sass, bahu n Saturn nonsense.
From then on there will be steady TRPs for this crap .
But it will not be a trp leader .
One must enjoy it while it lasts.
I think that Abhi has a very high sense of humour.
That's something I like a lot .
Abhi as a chr compliments well with Pragya .
What more can one want.
I will be a regular here once Munni's track comes to an end .
Miss you all.

@prozium

Since you broached this subject, lets understand some FACTS of TV viewing in current times more than perceptions.

Who are watching prime time TV?

If we take late evening TV shows when almost entire family assembles at home before or around dinner time, how many average Indian households (be it urban or rural) continue to leave remote control completely with housewives or grannies in current age, just asking? 😕So notion of mainly some TRP aunties / grannies loving daily TV serials may no longer hold good as it was some years back. 😊

Most importantly in 2017 if we observe closely its Hindi non-fiction shows and reality shows across all major GECs that grabbed more viewership, acclaims, revenues and TRP's. Also new evening fiction shows that got launched like 'Tu Ashiqui', 'Ishq mein Marjawan' etc. wouldn't have even survived till now. Even long running YRKKH on verge to be shut down, again bounced and clicked when newer younger couple's problems, their love stories, careers and generation gap issues were focussed upon where it attracted younger viewers attention. This clearly proves its a wider Indian audience that's watching GECs on TV in current times being telecast at prime time slots, and not just some aunties or grannies. Lets accept this. 😛

Do TRPs reflect right responses from audience?

Now TRPs released by BARC (which started from 2015 replacing that controversial unreliable TAM) is NOT the only way to gauge response of Indian TV audiences to a daily serial or understand its popularity or measure its success or get feedback of a given track/sub-track in current times. Also today BARC usage of sample households doesn't necessarily cover all States and UT's across India nor all regions within them nor all popular Dish or Cable networks nor is their data capture completely automatic.🤔 TRPs are primarily being used as a tool for broadcasters, producers to negotiate and fix up ad slot prices with advertisers during prime time slots 6.30pm to 11pm that too focussed on GEC urban viewership, also helps them control their per episode expenditure accordingly based on ad revenues.

Just last week happen to read latest interview by Zee corporate COO on related subjects, he spoke in detail and confirms this. So broadcasters do deploy their own marketing agencies or take support from third party media research agencies to do independent surveys across the country at regular intervals to know where their channels, their shows fair and how some fictional characters are able to connect with audiences in long run or why they aren't.

E.g. While &tv and Sony fiction shows don't regularly appear in BARC urban TRP charts, based on other surveys, it seems they have regular viewership in certain tier 1 Indian cities and towns with reasonable following than some of those fiction shows that keep appearing in TRP charts.

Most Star Plus prime time fiction dailies that got launched in last couple of years and even some on Sony failed to strike a chord with varied audiences for sustained periods and for different reasons, and so were pulled down quickly, but not because current Indian TV audience is blindly demanding to daily sit and watch only traditional kitchen politics or overly vampish or primitive age saas-bahu dramas. 😃

So when we hear news of channels pulling down certain daily TV shows abruptly in recent times, and when media / producers / actors quote low TRPs as an excuse blaming it on Indian TV audience or so called TRP aunties or owing to online fandom not watching them live on TV, its far from the whole truth.😛

High budgets per episode, unforeseen controversies, lack of expandable story plots, saturated ideas due to multiple leaps used already in the show, repeated problems with producers / actors, also noticing continuous disconnect of audiences with main characters of the show - these have been more viable reasons, and also quite often. 😊

Coming back to BARC

Last Oct/Nov BARC chairman speaking to media said from 2015 to 2017 they have increased sample household setboxes from 15,000 to 30,000 but he also underlined that increase is mostly in rural household samples as their agency started focusing more on small towns and villages to standardize rural measurement and TRP charts. Indicates BARC urban samples have been more or less static till date. 😳 Statistics say today India has more than 180 mn active TV set users for 1.2 bn population and moreover we all know India is a diverse nation with varying tastes, languages, dialects and cultures.

In a nutshell BARC measurement is still evolving, many stakeholders still have doubts seeking clarity, there are bodies advising changes to BARC samples & procedures, representations are being sent to I&B ministry on normalizing factors to consider both urban and rural measurement (which is now focused only on urban), asking them to increase ad slot time per hour and rates per sec etc. etc. its a deep subject beyond our capacity.

Coming to KKB still in TRP charts.

As per my earlier post, most BARC urban sample households still remain same last couple of years, may be some of them are overly habituated to watch Zee and this show daily at 9pm.😛 But KKB clearly has lost reasonable urban TRPs from 2015 to 2017. It was comfortably getting 4 to 4.7 TRPs earlier that too many times, but in 2017 and till last week it has been struggling to clock even 2.4 to 3 TRPs. 😳

Another big advantage of KKB, for pretty long time Zee doesn't have any TOUGH competition at 9pm slot from SP or Colors shows.😃 Most Indians may not prefer sitting thru mythological show daily at dinner time like Shani on Colors, and Naamkaran on SP lost its core plot, also deviated from man leads, got into meaningless criminalized obsessed pyscho killers antics long back. Also both these rival shows went thru leaps last year and its regular viewers didn't much appreciate post leap episodes. 😳

First 350 episodes of concept, story line, relatable main leads, talented actors, characterizations, relationships, reasonable conflicts, emotions, intensity, fun - challenges of a married couple's journey coming due to unexpected arranged marriage between odd personalities have set a strong foundation and as held up KKB's brand value globally. And its still sustaining on its brand value even after 1000 episodes with some habituated 9pm audiences in India still wanting to see how Abhigya's marriage life progresses despite all senseless craps and overly criminalized tracks.

Shabir and Sriti's performances and onscreen chemistry as Abhi & Pragya ofcourse has been a major factor. No generation leaps so far unlike all other Balaji fiction shows, has been another major contributor.

An year back Zee biz head gave an interview about KKB success.

He clearly said its Abhi & Pragya characters and their jodi that has established deep emotional connect with audiences for a long time. That's major reason for sustained viewership and success of KKB according to him and he termed Abhigya as USP. 😃

Again recently he spoke to media during Jan 2018 when KKB 1000 event was planned. He said its 15+ age group and their families that have continued supporting KKB all these years. 😉As per him, they look forward to sit and watch Abhi & Pragya's life at dinner time daily and really enjoy seeing them.
