so far we have seen immature kidish flirty and angry ratan. but i wonder how a lover ratan will be.
how will he fall in love.what will make him realise that he loves dia as a man loves a women😳.
i for one hope they dont show him marrying her because his dad and circumstances deigned so😕.
i want the writers to show something different😉.but by the way the current track is going its a hopeless wish😭.
atleast i hope the writers show a passionate paagal ashiq in ratan
.i remember this one show named gulaal in star plus, where towards the end the younger hero falling in love with older heroine.man that hero i forgot his name but i still remember his performance dispite his hatred for the heroine he falls for her and the way he passionately expressed his love for her was so amazing that even after all these years i still remember their performance.
so i hope for the best.what do you guys think?

Aziza,

You are talking about Kesar played by Neil Bhatt! That was one of the best written characters and that show was a good example of showing you do not need to even show a hug or a kiss to show passion.

They could see each other from a distance of four feet and set the screen on fire!

Ah... This thread ❤️ I like, I like!!

Kesar is LOVE! What actors Neil and Manasi were... seriously amazing actors... still are. they set the stage on fire with literally no romantic hugs or kisses, no push pull scenes... absolutely nothing.

Here Teju is pretty good... but, Rohit today was disappointing. He is trying to show the same expressions over and over to showcase his mistakes and youth. Cant help but compare him with Neil who portrayed Kesar. Neil was a new comer then... but what intense acting and chemistry there was with no hugs or kisses. Nothing touchy... everything was just with eyes. Vasanth who played Abhay's role but was a positive character was played by an experienced actor... but I couldn't appreciate the candyfloss chemistry between Gulaal and him... but, Neil and Manasi (Kesar and Gulaal) OMG... it was sheer pleasure watching them burn the screen. Plus the subtlety and the layers in the script was sooo sooo beautiful.

The writers of RLHN are absolutely not doing justice to Ratan's character. It is definitely very poorly written. They are writing juvenile stuff and treating Ratan as an imbecile 9 year old kiddo. Kesar was given equal weight-age in Gulaal. He did make mistakes, but not silly stupid ones like Ratan. While the mistakes might have looked bad to the family he had a solid reason to justify his behavior. He was never shown as a child. He was shown as a 21 year old fighting a battle to know between right and wrong, truth and lie. But here Ratan's dilemma seems surreal and kiddish.

Plus the writers have not established any depth of reason for the bond between Ratan and Diya. I am watching this as a show but this is lacking depth and intensity for sure.

More than Rohit, I blame the writer for putting down Ratan's character so badly.

Also the writers are not at all doing justice to Ratan's character. It is definitely not well written. They are writing juvenile stuff and treating Ratan as an imbecile kiddo. Here Writer seems to have not come out of the 9 year old zone for Ratan. More than Rohit, I blame the writer for putting down Ratan's character so badly.

Agreed Poppinss!

Rohit is making it still bearable with his really sweet face and earnest acting but it IS being written badly.

I still find it hard to believe that a child who have seen so many trauma in life being so frivolous. :-(

But that level on banality is to prevalent in the post Pehredaar phase writing.

For a family which has gone through something so drastic, the whole Thakur clan is annoyingly chirpy.

One of he reasons I could like Abhay because only he is shown to be acting like these 12 years have affected him.

I think Ratan Saaah will be like that.
When I also saw Gulal when I was so small. But there the hero Keser used to love Gulal when he was small, when he became adult he loved her more even when he believed she killed his brother. But here our Ratan Saah doesn't love Diya. and also thinks love is just physical attraction.

Keser was a very polished, matured and emotional character and the actor played it well, Ratan is totally different.

They started off with Gulaal as the base story... but with PPK back story gone... they weaved a flimsy plot to comeback to the main plot.

I have seen many badly written stories getting life purely due to strong screenplay and actors. Here... sadly the screenplay is absolutely dumb. Actors are decent. Rohit sure need to improve... but in the quest for TRP they are butchering his character. They better get the plot and screenplay in order. Otherwise even TRP aunties wont forgive the writers.

Today's audience are waking up and are not easily fooled.

Bang on Nancy!! Anyone who has watched Gulaal would be able to appreciate why I and others like me rant here 😊. This story is total crap so disappointed with Ratans character development.

Flimsy plot and not developing characters apart from leads. They initially showed promise in terms of character development but it derailed once they were in a hurry to end the Pehredaar/Hamlawar track.

Then onwards barring a few sparks of good writing in between, things are a bit of a downward spiral.

The biggest difference between Gulaal and RLHN will be lack of strong secondary characters. Gulaal managed to give a solid story and an exceptionally well written characters. Remember Mota Bha? Man, that was dignity and wisdom personified.

But here I guess after scrapping the original premise they have to come up with something to get them together. (It is still tough to believe that Ratan's dad chose a dreamy eyed, film romance lover 18 year old girl instead of her father to guard him.

(I watched the Diyerwattu scene once again last night. What a powerful writing)

I agree Rohit needs to up him game but the dialogues and scenes are not helpful either. :-(

So far we can do a dialogue count of how many times he said "Diya is boring (because she is 30 year old)"

Thankfully they have so far made sure Diya is consistent and very strong. And Tejaswi is a very good actress and as her name suggests have that "Tej" on her face to portray that character.
