MSN Messenger service down for second day

"Express yourself with MSN Messenger", well maybe not today. It seems that Microsoft is having multiple problems with their MSN Messaging service that started yesterday causing periodic outages.

The messaging service was reportedly down yesterday for approximately 6 hours before coming back up at around 8:00pm (EST). All seemed fine until today, when the service has been sketchy for most of the day with outages throughout the day.

We attempted to find out some answers to the mysterious problems which also caused muliple web service errors on the Messenger web site, but to no avail. "MSN is experiencing minor service problems" is the only answer we got.
