CHAPTER 8
Roshni took a deep sigh and closed her eyes..praying the day would go by without a hitch...as she stepped into the college. This had now become her daily routine.
"She is such a reject" a snooty voice spoke from behind, and she immediately froze in her spot
"I know just look at her hair. It looks like a rats nest" another snobby voice pitched in.
There was a momentary pause and some laughter
"She's so not cool. A total nerd" teased Misha as Roshni finally turned around and faced her
"Actually she seems quite stupid for a nerd. I have no idea why people call you smart" chuckled Misha
Adjusting her spectacle. .Roshni walked closer to Misha and stared her in the eyes
"Well I'd rather be a nerd, than a manipulative stupid bimbo... like you!"
Misha eyes widened " What did you say. How dare you! Stay in your limits Nerdy Patel. Don't force me to show you my worst side" she bawled
"Oh you mean this is your good side" chuckled Roshni
She watched as Misha face turned into a puddle of anger
"Don't act smart with me!" She groaned, grabbing her arm roughly
Roshni winced slightly, but didn't lose her eye contact with Misha
"I'm not playing smart...because if I did, then you would be too stupid to understand!" Roshni replied in frustration
Misha eyes widened even more
"You called me stupid..Bitch..I'll get you for this!" She scoffed as she raised her hand to slap her..but this time Roshni grabbed her hand really hard
"Don't you dare!" Hissed Roshni "Or I swear you'll need a doctor the time I'm done with you!"
The intensity in Roshni eyes, caused the colour of Misha cheeks to fade, and she felt a lump in her throat...
Roshni let go of her hand abruptly and Misha stepped back, looking here and there
"Ahhh...I'm...ahhh...letting...you go for now. But next time be careful not to mess with me" and walked away a quickly as possible
Roshni rolled her eyes and proceeded to her locker.
"I wasn't a part of it" she heard someone say behind her.
Raising her brow, she turned around to find Sidharth. His hands tucked into his pocket of his pale blue jeans, with his signature smile.
"Part of What!!!" Asked Roshni irritated
"Misha and her stupid remarks...but I must admit I really enjoy listening to you, standing up for yourself. MAZA aa gaya" he chuckled
Roshni took the necessary book out of her locker and slammed the door shut...
She closed her eyes in an attemp to calm herself
"Look Sidharth, I don't want to be late for my class, and I'm not in the mood to talking to you or any of your friends! " trying to avoid further conversation with him
"Saath mein chalte hai nah. .I'm in your class too...and I promise I won't irritate you"
Roshni cringed her eyebrows, and threw daggers at him, with her eyes..
Sidharth couldn't help letting his attention drift to how beautiful her brown chocolate eyes were...despite the glasses...They twinkled like little stars. ..
Coming out of his reverie. .He smirked
"Hey stop it Nerdy Patel. Your staring is creeping me out" he pointed out
Roshni narrowed her eyes at him, and wished she could blow him up from her glares...and began to walk at a faster pace
Sidharth tried to keep up with her,
"Hey wait up!" He yelled as Roshni sighed and rolled her eyes
"What's your problem. Don't you have anything better to do than follow me around all the time! "
Sidharth tapped his index finger on his chin, thought for a minute, and then shook his head
"Hmm..Actually I don't. Besides you have a very interesting personality. . You usually keep me very entertained" he winked
"Well I'm glad you're having fun" she replied sarcastically, as she pulled out her book and sat down in her seat
"No wonder people call you a nerd. You're always reading!" teased Sidharth as he sat in thr seat next to her
"I call it responsible, hard working, talented and smart person. But i suppose these words have nothing to do with you!" She chuckled back
"Ahhh thats true"
"Yeppp! " she replied popping the letter p
"Now go and sit somewhere else" she hissed
"Awww. You really don't like me. Do you?" Pouted Sidharth
"Actually like is the wrong word..I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really hate you" she smiled
Her sentence only made Sidharth grim wider
"How can she be so mean and cute at the same time" he whispered under his breath
Roshni continued to ignore his presence, which irked Sidharth no end
"You know jab tum is tarah se gussa karti ho, toh yeh jo tumhari choti se nakh bohut badi ho jati hai. And trust me it doesn't look good on you. I mean you look more cuter when you smile and laugh"
Roshni stopped reading her book..and smiled slightly...which did not go unnoticed by Sidharth
Silence...
"So do you have a boyfriend" he asked out of the blue..
A blush crept up on her face and she replied
"Ah No...and neither am I interested in having one! " she replied without taking her eyes of her book
Silence
Unknowingly she asked "And you?"
Sidharth sat up straight surprised by her question
"Ahh No " he smiled "Although a lot of girls are dying to make me their boyfriend " He grinned and he ran his fingers through his hair, trying to look cool..to which Roshni rolled her eyes
"But I'm not really interested! And I don't believe in flirting.. The girl who will be my girlfriend, will have to be very special, for me to fall in love with her" He added
Roshni eyes remained focused on the page before her. Pretending to be disinterested, although she had listened to each and every word he spoke
"Actually I think that having a girlfriend is equivalent to having a time bomb with you in your pocket. Nobody knows kab blast Ho jaye" he said and laughed loud
"But in ladkiyon ko kaun samjaen! All after me..." he said proudly
"Oh hello...is ghalat fehmi mein mat raho. itne smart nahin ho tum!" Teased Roshni
'Shut up. Mein paida hi smart hua tha. And girls are always fighting to get my attention "
"Smart and you...my foot. I bet you were probably busy somewhere else, when God was giving out brains " sarcasm evident in her tone
"Maybe I was busy with you" he grinned mischievously. .
"Ufff you're a perfect example of a self obsessed moron"
"Am I?" he chuckled "Whatever you Believe, I am not self obsessed...its a fact! I am the dream of every girl"
"Those girls must be blind. Lucky I have my spectacles and I can see very clearly...and From what I see your just okay..okay"
Her words made Sidharth laugh out loud
"Are you by any chance related to Hitler" asked Sidharth rubbing his chin
"Mein tumhe Hitler lag ti hoon?" She asked shocked
"100%..." He retorted only to get a glare back from Roshni
"And you're stupid"
"No I'm not!".
Muttering a zillion curses..under her breath Roshni looked around the class...Nobody had arrived, And Roshni looked down at her mobile.
Sidharth was enjoying irritating her. She looked even more cuter when she was mad.
Sidharth kept his gaze on her, his adorable smile plastered on his face, which Roshni was desperately trying to ignore.
Finally when she had enough she closed her book
"Tumhe kuch kaam nahin hai kya? Why are you staring at me!"
"No! Nahin hai koi aur kaam. What to do?"
"Then find something to do and stop irritating me!
"Tum hamesha mujhse itna chidti kyon rehti ho!"
"Aur tum hamesha kyon Mujhe har waqt ghurte rehte ho?"
Sidharth thought for a moment and shrugged hid shoulders. He had no idea himself "bas Aiywein" he replied sheepishly.
Roshni looked at him...for a few moments, lost in thought
"Junglee billee kahan kho gaye" he said clicking his fingers in front of her
"No where. I was just wondering how long a human being can live without a brain" she mocked
"I don't know you tell me...since you're missing one!" He quickly replied making her growl
There was still 10 mins before their class started
Annoyed by Sidharth presence she got up and Sidharh quickly stood up too
"Hey wait...where are you going" He asked as he pulled her back. In the process Roshni accidentally fell over her bag...and dragged him down with her
Within seconds, they fell to the ground with a thud
Sidharth lay over her body, and his lips accidentally brushed against the corner of her lips..due to force of the fall.
Sidharth lingered his lips there for a while. His heart beats out of control
Roshni froze! Her eyes we're ready to pop out of the sockets any moment. She was so shocked, and could feel a shiver running down her spine all the way down to her toes...
Whilst Sidharth lips unknowingly curved up into a smile. He could literally feel an electrical current of 440 volts!!
His heart stopped for a second day and then started beating with the speed of 100 miles per hour...as he slowly removed his lips
For a few moments, both we're lost in the moment. Only their eyes we're talking
Both gazed into each others eyes, as if finally they had found their way. Their destination. . Sidharth could feel her soft breaths on his face. ...Her long silky hair spread across the floor. He couldn't help but stare
Sidharth began to study every feature of hers in his heart..His stare gave Roshni the goosebumps, from the sudden proximity, and turned her face away slightly.
She started getting shivers in her body and his heart beats started rising. He couldn't understand the effect she had on him
Sidharth hand accidented brushed against hers, and both closed their eyes feeling the touch. The moment seemed magical.
When reality hit Roshni eyes widened, and tried to get up, but Sidharth was still lost in her eyes..
Roshni blushed hard and her face became a deep shade of red..
Looking back at him she furrowed her eywbrows and gave an angry look at Sidharth on purpose and ruined the perfect moment
"Please can you get of me motte!"
Sidharth eyes almost popped open
"MOTA...Tumne mujhe mota kaha. You called me fat!"
Roshni simply rolled her eyes "YES" as Sidharth started at sulking like a baby
"Haww. How can you say that I go to the gym every day. And for your information it's not fat ..it's muscle!"
"Muscle? Whatever, now get off me..you stupid dumb idiot..otherwise mein tumhe musel ke ruk dungi"
Shrugging his shoulders, Sidharth declared "Ek toh tumne mujhe dumb kahan and on top of that you are giving me orders. Isliye mein ab nahin hatne wala. Tumhe jo karna hai Karla!"
Gritting her teeth, Roshni threatened him.
"Get of me..otherwise I swear i will kick you between your legs! So just move!" She said annoyingly
"Arre! You wouldn't dare" Sidharth replied as his eyes narrowed slightly...wondering whether she would
Roshni pushed on his shoulders, But he refused to move
"5 seconds - if you don't get of me..mein saach mein laath mar dungi!.."
"Wohhh I'm scared" he again mocked her "I know you wouldn't dare do that!"
"Are you sure about that Sidharth" she asked raising a single eyebrow, and Sidharth creased his forhead
"Ummm"
"Phir mat kehna. I've heard one blow to a man's private part can be very very painful!" She smirked
Sidharth eyed her for a moment...trying to catch her bluff
Pushing Sidharth again by the shoulders, she hissed
"Agar 5 second mein tum mere uppar se nahin haate.. you mein saach mein kick karungi!"
Sidharth swallowed hard...she meant busines
Sidharth smile suddenly faded... She was capable of doing anything
"5...4...3..2...
Instantly Sidharth backed away..."Okay..Okay!" He said as he got up
"Bari dangerous hai tu!" He said shaking his head
"Yes I am...so stay away.." she huffed
"Bapre. ..chota packet. .bara dhamaka. But seriously itni se hai tu, stop taking panga with boys, who are stronger than you. Any other boy would have taken advantage of that position we were in"
"Stronger..hahaha. You're right itni se hoon mein. I don't know karate or Judo. .but I know where a man's weak point is. Ek laat hi khafi hai...to bring them to their knees" She teased
Sidharth moved away and crossed his legs, trying to smile
Roshni smirked slightly, and then quickly straighten herself up and sat back on her seat
Sidharth watched her
"I swear..I've never met anyone like her. Is puri duniya mein yeh ek hi piece hai." he smiled as he watched her
"Hey Buddy!" Called Karan as he stood standing at the door..
Sidharth turned his gaze away from Roshni and smiled sheepishly at Karan
As he was about to take his seat next to Roshni, Sheena beat him to it..
He sighed heavily and sat reluctantly next to Karan
"So how was the kiss?" Asked Karan suddenly
Sidharth eyes widened
"w...w...what kiss"
"The one you just shared with Roshni...and don't lie. I witness the whole scene..only wish I had some popcorn at the time. It was very entertaining"
"Just shut up ok...it was not a kiss.. it was ahhh...just..my lips...they ah... because of the fall. So it wasn't really a kiss..As if I would kiss her intentionally...no way man " he said without making any eye contact with Karan
"You still didn't answer my question..how was the kiss"
"Shut up Karan...varna pittega mujhse."
Karan chuckled slightly "Waise Sid. Tell me one thing"
"What?"
"Tum kaise kar leteh ho?"
"What do I do?" Asked Sidharth confused
"How do you and Roshni always manage to land up on the floor" Karan asked, like an innocent child.
Sidharth just growled "Shut up okay..it was just an accident"
"Accident. Really. Then how come in these so called accidents of yours, you only collide with Roshni.." he teased further
Karan smirked as Sidharth frowned, and shrugged his shoulders..evading the question
"So you like her?" He questioned
"Tch...Of course not...What makes you think that?"
"Because nowadays my friend is always lapatta...you know missing. And if I need to find him, then I just need to look for Roshni and vwaalla...I'll find you too" he joked
"Haha very funny. And for your information, I'm not with Roshni all the time. It's just that we keep bumping into each other, and you know how much I love to tease her...bas isliye!"
"Is that so?"
"Obviously. Actually Karan...I like to see her angry..it's fun.." he tried to convince himself and Karan...
"Yeah...yeah..whatever" smirked Karan
"Who are you kidding me or yourself!" Whispered Karan...to which Sidharth replied
"Nobody!"
