Talking about Sameer's feeling and all the time it is taking for the realization ...
I am now assuming, jealousy tract is on the way.
It seems that the most potent emotion for anyone to move from Denial or Dosti mode to love is Jealousy.
The moment any boy or Sameer sees the same girl (Naina) who was always giving him attention, being pursued by another guy that can be triggering point for him.
Jealousy is a form of love. No one can escape this feeling, and I have seen many real-life guys in denial mode realizing their love only after the girl gives them cold vibes and are pursued by some other guy.
Therefore, Rohan entry is apt and a possibility.
However, Naina is not going to fall into love trap again. Her walls will be so high that no boy (including Sameer) can go over it. She will be extra closed. With all the Meghaben issue effect on her and also her worry about the reputation of herself/her family, there is no chance she will give any importance to any boy anymore. She will not trust anyone. Nothing is now more significant for her than her family reputation and peace.
But, it doesn't stop some other boy (e.g., Rohan) to try to get close to her. At most Naina will interact with that person as a fellow schooler (at the same time she will not interact with Sameer).
That has to be the only way Sameer realizes his attraction/love seeing the same girl for whom he was in Dost/Denial mode talking to some other guy and giving him a blank expression.
Then only he will start missing her care & attention (moving away from guilt - Naina will forgive him to rid him of his guilt and then just maintain no interaction with him)
However, it is going to take a miracle for Naina to forgive Sameer and I don't know what Miracle Sameer will do to make Naina overlook his betrayal and to trust him again.
