Sameer's monologue for today...
It has been 25 years now. But even today when I remember that day, I get upset with myself. That time, I could not tell Naina because I did not have the courage to look into her eyes. And I am saying this today: that moment was the worst moment of my life. If I ever get a chance to walk back in time, then I probably would have erased that moment. But I neither got a chance to erase it nor did I get chance to speak to Naina that day. I was probably scared of myself. I could neither accept my wrong doing in front of her nor could I ask her for forgiveness. I still come here every year. Mt. Abu trip was memorable for both of us in more than one way. Many changes happened in Naina's life because of this trip. And mine too. ...
First and foremost, we should keep in mind that VO actors have to convey emotions only through their voices, without actually acting in the show/movie. It is a difficult job. So please let us have patience before jumping in to judge. This was first day and started with a very sad event. So the voice was not much animated. However, I will say that I the voice was bit soft, at times not easily audible clearly. That may have created lots of confusion.
Second, there is nothing in this monologue to suggest that Sameer and Naina are not married. Mt. Abu trip changed Naina's life because she realized the difference between movies and real life pyar but most importantly, a guy she loved whole heartedly broke her trust. Breaking of trust is a big issue and remains like a scar all through life. It is not some "instant" coffee or instant microwave thing that you say "sorry" and trust comes back.
For Sameer it was important because for the first time in his life he had actually fallen in love with someone. He had always been deprived of love and never thought he was good enough to be loved. But it happened and he messed up. Sameer is right in saying what happened was not a mistake. It was a crime. Most often , we forget our mistakes. But try forgetting a crime if you have ever committed one, no matter how trivial it may sound...it's not easy.
And neither Sameer nor Naina suggested even for once, that they got to Mt. Abu separate. His words were "I still come here every year"...did he mention I come here alone? No. Did Naina VO say "I never go to Mt. Abu"? No. Then why are people assuming ?
The fact that male VO has come means they are happily married. Period.
Now about Sumeet Mittal. It is his story. Now tell me, how many of you think Randeep should play 40 plus guy? Sure Sumeet and Shashi Mittal are in their 40s now. But this show is set in 90s... so let's say in 1999, they were both in late 20s...so Randeep and Ashi both can play that part since both are in their 20s.
But is it not possible that Shashi and Sumeet Mittal appear in the last episode of the show? It is. Hence Sumeet Mittal's appearance...
As for showing Ashi in first episode as older Naina...please read the article about Sumeet Mittal . It is a recent decision. If they had taken the decision at the beginning of the show, Shashi Mittal probably would have been there as older Naina.
This is all I understood from today's episode...😊
