Sameer's monologue for today...

It has been 25 years now. But even today when I remember that day, I get upset with myself. That time, I could not tell Naina because I did not have the courage to look into her eyes. And I am saying this today: that moment was the worst moment of my life. If I ever get a chance to walk back in time, then I probably would have erased that moment. But I neither got a chance to erase it nor did I get chance to speak to Naina that day. I was probably scared of myself. I could neither accept my wrong doing in front of her nor could I ask her for forgiveness. I still come here every year. Mt. Abu trip was memorable for both of us in more than one way. Many changes happened in Naina's life because of this trip. And mine too. ...

First and foremost, we should keep in mind that VO actors have to convey emotions only through their voices, without actually acting in the show/movie. It is a difficult job. So please let us have patience before jumping in to judge. This was first day and started with a very sad event. So the voice was not much animated. However, I will say that I the voice was bit soft, at times not easily audible clearly. That may have created lots of confusion.

Second, there is nothing in this monologue to suggest that Sameer and Naina are not married. Mt. Abu trip changed Naina's life because she realized the difference between movies and real life pyar but most importantly, a guy she loved whole heartedly broke her trust. Breaking of trust is a big issue and remains like a scar all through life. It is not some "instant" coffee or instant microwave thing that you say "sorry" and trust comes back.

For Sameer it was important because for the first time in his life he had actually fallen in love with someone. He had always been deprived of love and never thought he was good enough to be loved. But it happened and he messed up. Sameer is right in saying what happened was not a mistake. It was a crime. Most often , we forget our mistakes. But try forgetting a crime if you have ever committed one, no matter how trivial it may sound...it's not easy.

And neither Sameer nor Naina suggested even for once, that they got to Mt. Abu separate. His words were "I still come here every year"...did he mention I come here alone? No. Did Naina VO say "I never go to Mt. Abu"? No. Then why are people assuming ?

The fact that male VO has come means they are happily married. Period.

Now about Sumeet Mittal. It is his story. Now tell me, how many of you think Randeep should play 40 plus guy? Sure Sumeet and Shashi Mittal are in their 40s now. But this show is set in 90s... so let's say in 1999, they were both in late 20s...so Randeep and Ashi both can play that part since both are in their 20s.

But is it not possible that Shashi and Sumeet Mittal appear in the last episode of the show? It is. Hence Sumeet Mittal's appearance...

As for showing Ashi in first episode as older Naina...please read the article about Sumeet Mittal . It is a recent decision. If they had taken the decision at the beginning of the show, Shashi Mittal probably would have been there as older Naina.

This is all I understood from today's episode...😊

I agree there was nothing that suggested that they are not together. Sameer is extremely sad because he hurt Naina. He can never forget what he did to the girl who was doing everything possible for him to keep him happy, the way he said woh ladki jo pal pal badal thi hai mujhe kush rakhne ke liye.

It just seems to be a ploy to add some suspense into the emotional mess that Sameer is in. Since they introduced the male VO, they thought why not include some suspense element and make it more interesting probably. I think this tactic has failed miserably amongst the fandom. The fans always need reassurance that their lead pair will end up together not this kind of uncertainty and doubt.

Nevertheless, I believe they are together 😃

I agree with you. Let's give tIme for the male voice over. Till
Now we are used to the female VO .after few days we might get some used to it.
About me Sumeet and Ms Sashi acting it's nonwhere mention they are acting .if at all the need they might show up in the last episode when it ending asirs their story.

Y r we worried. With the things that has yet to come .
Let's concentrate on the present and on sameer and naina .
Let's concentrate on sameers delima along with his confused mind where some times he takes a complete u turn 😡

Yes this sudden introduction of the male VO at this juncture has created the confusion. At the end of the day, it is a TV show. They have to put dressing and spices. I wish they had shown both Sameer and Naina together narrating the past would have been better. But then as you said they have to maintain some suspense. Naina VO always said "Mera Hero.." It is a term married women will either use for actors they admire or their own husband, not some other guy or lover from the past...at least not so openly...😊

Totally agree. Let's enjoy the show. For those who don't know...Subhash Ghai always used to make guest appearance in his movies in the 90s. It is not uncommon for the producers to appear in their own show. And here...it is their own story. 😊

Nicely written post, Rose!

I agree with all your points. I don't understand why many in the fandom are jumping to conclusions. I guess like Dixie said, most people do need reassurance that the lead pair is together, but I guess I see it differently. Why would they tell us right off the bat that they are together and that everything is ok between them? What's the point of the story if you already know everything in advance? A little bit of a suspense angle is ok for me, and anyhow there have been more than enough clues to suggest they are together, so why all the worry?

I haven't gotten used to the male voice yet either, but I feel the lines were written beautifully. I am excited to hear Sameer's side of the story.

As far as the older Sameer and Naina are concerned, I think by seeing that glimpse of Ashi in the first episode, everyone is assuming that they will be shown as an older couple eventually. But maybe they aren't planning on that at all. In that case, it wouldn't matter to me if the characters are played by someone else, if it's just a guest appearance anyway. Let's just enjoy the present and not worry about the future!

Naina's introduction was through the voice over. And it was during happy times. She kept the narration lively and joyful.

But unfortunately Sameer's voice over got introduced when the going was very sad. I guess this confused the viewer.

Also we are used to listen to crisp voice of Sadiya.
Maybe this male voice was not that crisp. And the man giving the voice needs time to get into the character too right

I sincerely feel we should give this voice over some time.
Both him and us will get accustomed to the new setting slowly.

One way this is the best time to introduce the male narrator.

Naina is hurting and she has gone blank due to her pain
So it is right for Sameer to take over from her now.

And I am quite sure that they are together now.

No one remembers their adhuri prem kahani this fondly.

Rose, nice post 👏

Exactly my point dear. Every love story is a journey of two individuals coming together and their hearts melting into one. We don't know what part of their journey they will show in detail. May be the 90s part will be in detail and then they might show how they are today in last episode...at this pont we don't know anything..so why worry about it now...
But I agree...this is love story and fans will be anxious to know if the leads end up together...but they must take solace that the people on whose lives the show is based are happily married. So why would they show something different. Randeep had said if this is real story , we will get married and have kids. And today Sumeet Mittal himself said it is based on his life and so he agreed to make appearance in the show...
We should enjoy the show and stop panicking every two days...😊😆

Hey ROSE...
Watched the episode dear rite now...so will copy padte wat i wrote on Dixies thread...

..It was clear cut mentioned by the VO that he still feel guilty of his actions n hurt that he had caused to her n it stills pain him for breaking her heart like that...its a sincere regret that if he could go back n change the scenario then...ITNA KYUN MACHAYA SHOR HAR Kisi Ne?...He said he couldnt apologize to her then...matlab its simple that day he walked off...didnt speak n mayb how mny days they didnt come face to face ...its as simple as that...He didnt face her n he had not guts to even mouth an apology...the context was referrred during that period of revelation n aftermath of it...its not talking about the present scenario...Im really feeling hysterical as wat was the wrong interpretation many got out of it...He clearly mentioned he was ashamed of his actions as not facing up to the situation like a man n hiding away like a coward...!Even his sincere apologies couldnot reduce the pain that he had caused her...the humilition n heartbreak...Its as simple as that...n tats what his lines meant n implied...!!!!EVEN AFTER apologizing n repenting which he did for sure...he wished it had not happened...the guilt of playing with her emotions was a crime according to him...its simple logic...He is still regretful n self condemned of his sinful action!

The second thing he said he comes every year...where has this been implied they are not together...seriously?!...where is the connection here?...R married men not allowed to travel kya ...or is it the bachelors had the right...Wat sort of an assumption is this...?he didnt mention anywhere alone...N he ysed HAMARE ...the reference for him n her...the change in their lives!...The flashback again never denoted it was from this trip...Very well it could be seen they are couple in love ...with their body language n happy faces !...The way they are sitting close n carving names in the heart...Who does that?...When they had already confessed their hearts out!...So im really amazed itni choti baat ka batankar...
