Next morning everyone was ready to leave for Ahmedabad. While having breakfast, Naina didn't find Sameer ... She became a bit apprehensive thinking about him...where was he...she thought. But she decided that she had to be strong along with Sameer so that he could fulfil his promise to her that he would change himself according to her wishes. So she couldn't get weak this time as it was about his future. She wanted to see him exceling in every field of life therefore both of them had to go through this phase. Everyone finished the breakfast and were boarding the buses when Sameer came and Munna and Pandit asked him where he had been missing? He told them that he had gone to the nearby temple as today is a new day in his life and he has to start afresh from now. Both of them were really impressed to see his determination and they asked him to board the bus.
He saw Naina boarding the bus and he asked them to come with him to the other bus. All of them went together and Naina saw them going to the other bus. The trip back home was quite a silent one for everyone as all of them were missing the beautiful moments spent there while Naina and Sameer were totally in a different world altogether now. Naina couldn't believe that her life took a 180 degree turn after the trip... Instead of taking beautiful memories of the trip along with her, she was taking a hard period ahead for both of them. They reached the school and Sameer's Nanu was there to pick him up while Chachaji had come for Naina. Both of them left for their respective homes ... Naina looked towards Sameer who was with his Nanu but he didn't look towards her. While going back home, Nanu tried to ask him about the trip but he was giving all the answers halfheartedly. Nanu understood that something was disturbing him and he wanted to know what happened after he told Naina the truth? But he went and asked Nanu for some time alone as he needed rest. Nanu understood his state of mind and decided to talk to him later.
At Naina's house, she met everyone and all were extremely happy to meet her. Preeti hugged her as she was left all alone while she wasn't here. She gave them the gifts that she had brought for each of them and everyone was very happy to receive them. She was too happy along with them as they were the most important people in her life and they would continue to be so... but inside her heart she was sad for Sameer. Chachiji told her to freshen up and come for dinner. Naina didn't feel like interacting much with anyone but for their happiness she controlled her emotions and did as she was told. At night Preeti asked her about the trip and she just told her that it was very good and that she needed rest and would talk to her later. Preeti was surprised to see her reaction but allowed her to take rest. While lying down on the bed Naina was still thinking about Sameer who had no one except Nanaji at his home.
Nanu came to Sameer and asked him what happened there? He told him hesitantly whatever happened and the way Naina helped her come out of the bet. Nanu was full of praise for that young mature girl and was happy to know that his grandson was now determined to change himself. Maybe this is the turning point in his life...he thought. He told him that he had to utilise this second chance which Naina had given him to prove himself. He too wanted to see him come out with flying colours and his Mom to feel proud of him. He hugged Sameer and wished him good luck for his mission and promised to give his full support to him. Sameer was relieved to know that he supported him in his endeavour and promised him that he would not leave any stone unturned and would work really hard to become the best student this year.
Next day everyone came to school and today Sameer sat on a seat away from Naina as he didn't want to make her uncomfortable. Shanti teacher entered the class and asked everyone to share their experiences on the trip and what they learnt from their experience. Everyone was sharing their experience and when it came to Sameer, he was blank for some time. After some time he said that "this trip taught him to be true to himself and that there is no shortcut to success... We need to work hard for everything we want. Shanti teacher praised his thoughts and wished him good luck for his future as she was happy to see a different Sameer today. teacher asked him to take his seat and he prayed to god that he can fulfil his promise. Naina looked at him with sad eyes but he didn't share an eye contact with her. When Naina was asked ...she told that she learnt that all the dreams and fantasies are never true...reality is far away from dreams...and we need to work hard to fulfil our dreams. Sameer felt something prick him from inside and he closed his eyes with guilt and decided that he wont let her down.
The day in school was otherwise smooth and Sameer was trying to concentrate on whatever was being taught in the class. The day ended and everyone went back home. Sameer while going back home also was thinking about ways to fulfil his promise and he decided what he had to do. He was busy in studies at home also and Nanu was very happy to see him so determined. Next day in school everyone was shocked to see him with a different hair style. He had got his hair trimmed slightly and Naina especially was surprised to see him like this. But she realised that he did this as a first step towards fulfilment of his promise. Sameer was a changed person...the way he was concentrating in class...she was feeling that definitely he would do what he had decided. He used to spend the free period in the library now. Rakesh Sir was shocked to see him study in the library and he teased him for trying to show off as a responsible student. But Sameer never responded to his teasings and continued to study.
Naina felt bad to see that he was being teased by her father when he wasn't doing anything wrong. She wished she could tell her father that he wasn't the one who stole the papers but didn't know how to do it? As it was about her own brother. She decided to talk to Arjun about this as she wanted her brother himself to come up and reveal the truth. Naina went back home and took Arjun inside her room. She told her what she wanted and that Sameer was being punished for something he never did. Arjun was scared of revealing the truth to their father but he promised that he would atleast talk to Sameer about this. He too wasn't able to face him now after that incident. The next day when the students were busy in having lunch during the lunch break Arjun came up to Sameer and asked him to come with him as he wanted to talk to him.
Sameer was surprised as this was the first time Arjun came to him like this. Arjun told him about the truth of the library keys and Sameer was shocked to know about the truth. He asked him whether Naina knew about this and he told him that she knew this and she was the one who gave him the courage to tell him everything today. Sameer was surprised that Naina didn't tell him anything herself but Arjun told him that it was he who had asked her not to reveal anything as his father would have killed him if he came to know the truth. Sameer told Arjun that this truth no longer made any difference to him as he never deserved to become the head boy that time. But he would work hard now and he would gain this place for himself with his hard work. He promised him that he won't tell anything to Rakesh Sir about this ever.Arjun was guilty for doing all that to him and happy at the same time seeing his determination. Arjun left from there and Naina who was seeing all this from a distance was relieved to see this change in Sameer.
The days were passing by and Sameer was becoming more responsible in studies. One day teacher asked Naina to collect the names of students for an interschool competition in music and sports. The students gave their names but Sameer didn't give his name in any activity. Naina wanted him to participate in cricket and guitar competition but how to talk to him? She knew that he was very good in both these and he knew if he won the guitar competition and did well in cricket, it would be a great boost to his confidence and also his reputation.
She decided to go and talk to the Principal Sir and was sure that Principal Sir won't refuse to her request. She told him that they needed good students for their cricket team and Sameer is very good in cricket but he isn't able to participate in the competition because he has been denied the permission to play cricket for 3 months. But she tried to convince the Principal that he would be an asset to the team and he should be allowed to play. The Principal Sir agreed to this and told her that he would be announcing this in the assembly next day. She was relieved to know this and thanked the Principal Sir but still she was thinking of how to make him come forward for the guitar competition also. In the class, she was talking loudly with Swati so that everyone could hear.
Naina: Swati...yaar koi bhi guitar competition ke liye apna naam nahi de raha hai? ab main kya karu? Humara school to peeche reh jayega...
Swati: Naina ab koi nahi hai jise guitar play karna aata ho to kya kar sakte hain?
Naina: Swati aisa nahi hai ki kisi ko nahi aata guitar bajana...aise kuchh students hain jo bahut achha guitar bajate hain...kaash wo participate karte to kitna achha hota na...
Swati: tu kiski baat kar rahi hai?
Naina: hai koi jo jaanta hai main kiski baat kar rahi hu... Wo participate kare to humare school ke liye bahut achha hoga...aur mujhe bhi bahut khushi hogi...
Both of them looked at each other and Sameer understood that she wanted him to participate in guitar competition. He took her eyes way from her and Naina was disappointed but couldn't do anything. But to her surprise he gave his name in the next class to the teacher. She felt so relieved inside when she came to know about this that he would take part in the interschool competition. The next day in the school assembly, Principal Sir announced the final list of students for the cricket team along with the participants in the other activities and Sameer was very surprised to hear his name. Rakesh Sir was very angry that his suspension from cricket team was refuted but Principal Sir told him that it was about the school's reputation and he was a very good player and he had no doubts in this truth. Rakesh sir couldn't say anything this time and he left from the school assembly.
Sameer was constantly working hard for his studies and he spent his free time in cricket practice or guitar. Munna and Pandit were happy to see him concentrate on his studies and they kept on supporting him and boosting his morale that he would definitely succeed in whatever he had decided. Naina was waiting for the day when Sameer would win the competition and the entire school would be proud of him along with her.
