the biggest flops, especially with the failure
of movies like Salman Khan's Tubelight and
Shah Rukh Khan's Jab Harry Met Sejal. Post
the debacle of Tubelight, Salman had
reimbursed the distributors of the film for
the losses that they had incurred and now,
looks like SRK too has followed suit.
Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma
starrer Imtiaz Ali directorial Jab Harry Met
Sejal tanked at the box office. The movie
managed to rake in about Rs 62.33 crore
which led to huge losses for the
distributors.
Speculations have been rife whether Shah
Rukh will reimburse the distributors too. If a
report on BollywoodHungama is to be
believed, then Shah Rukh has in fact
compensated about 30% to some
distributors, even though he was legally not
bound to compensate them. The actor has
also refunded about 15% to NH Studioz and
30% to other distributors.
Reportedly, Shah Rukh's team analysed the
the losses incurred by each distributor. Since
Jab Harry Met Sejal was expected to collect
Rs 100 crore at least, NH Studioz had
acquired the all India rights of the film for Rs
80 crore but sadly, the film didn't even
manage to touch that figure.
This isn't the first time that Shah Rukh has
compensated the distributors for their loss.
The actor has previously refunded the
distributors for the 2015 release Dilwale, his
2005 release Paheli and his 2001 release
Asoka.
As of now, the actor is shooting for Aanand
L Rai's upcoming flick in which he will be
seen playing a midget. The movie also stars
Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif.
Speculations about him starring in Dhoom 4
are also rife but the actor has confirmed
that he hasn't signed any other film except
that of Aanand L Rai as of now.
