his charm in romantic movies. The veteran
actor has done several roles in his career
span of more than 40 years. Recently, Chintu
Ji spoke about how he is blessed that his
fans and the industry have accepted him in
every role he did over the years.
Talking about it, Rishi Ji stated to a leading
daily, "God has been very kind. And my fans
have loved me in my younger avatar and in
my second innings as well. I'm thankful to
the writers and directors who have written
such parts for me in films, as it's very
difficult for us actors of this age to get
work."
Chintu Ji went on to say, "I am doing all
kinds of films. I have played positive roles,
negative ones, the role of a gay man I've
done everything possible. I even [have] a
different look in every film."
The veteran actor also spoke about how
older actors are not getting suitable roles in
movies by stating, "Hindi cinema is basically
young cinema. It's all about romance and
running around trees. Of course, it's
changing, but youth is still there. The
cinema-going public has also changed. Auto
drivers and rickshaw pullers don't have the
same sensibility as that of those [audiences],
who watch films in multiplexes where the
ticket costs 500."
He concluded by saying, "Because we are
playing the right age. I am 65 and playing
my age. In fact, I've played much older roles.
And I don't care. I'm not trying to look
young. I am waiting for all my hair to turn
grey, so I can do many other kinds of roles."
