Janhvi Kapoor Is All Set To Become Bollywood's Next Alia Bhatt? Here's What Trade Experts Feel
There are a lot of expectations from star kids when they chose to make their Bollywood debut. The case for Janhvi Kapoor, Sridevi's pretty elder daughter, is no different. All set to make her debut with Karan Johar's Dhadak along with another star kid Ishaan Khatter, this Bollywood debut is what everyone has been talking about. More so, after the amazing manner in which the first look posters were revealed earlier last month.
Although all eyes had been on Sara Ali Khan and her first filmi outing in Kedarnath, after she already started shooting for it with Sushant Singh Rajput, the tables turned as soon as Dhadak stars were officially launched. If anyone had doubts about which star kid is leading the race, the scene got clearer. The match got interesting and we dialed our trade expert Akshaye Rathi to know his take on how Janhvi was launched, becoming the flavour of the season. "It was a launch that any star kid or a debutant rightly deserves, Rathi opines adding that Karan Johar did the same thing when he launched Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra and he is repeating the formula with Janhvi and Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan as well.
Rewinding to 2012 when Student of The Year released, Rathi reminds us, "If you may recall, the three had become stars even before their first film hit screens. The audience knew them, was excited to see them on the screen and the newbies already had a decent fan following all geared up to watch their film.Karan is not following the cliched path but making sure that Janhvi and Ishaan are not considered newbies when their film comes to the theatres. He wants to endear the two budding actors to the audience just like Alia, Varun and Sidharth. Other filmmakers should learn this launch mantra from him, he says.
Komal Nahta's opinion resonated with Rathi's. He points out that by releasing multiple posters of Dhadak, the makers have moved away from tradition. "The first look is usually revealed when the film is halfway through and the posters are unveiled closer to the release, to officially start the promotions. But the team behind Dhadak only knows too well to create a buzz and keep it alive. It will be no surprise that by the time the film gets made, there will be a great interest around it, says Nahata.
As you read this, the first schedule of Dhadak is already underway in Udaipur where the crew is shooting at the beautiful backdrop of Lake Pichola and Udaipur City Palace.
