There are stories which creates a Villain for a strong heroic personality But few stories create a hero for an iconic Villain..Udaan is one such show, which drafted Chakor for an iconic Villain named..Kamal Narayan Rajvanshi..Firstly, casting Sai ballal for such role is the best Choice makers have made so far..His performance reinvented the way audiences connected with Villains..😊
There no logic to KN..Maniac, anarchical, self-destructive..He understands how things work, what should be done and plans accordingly but he doesn't have an end goal.. Each scene is dominated by his character to a point where even the main leads play a second fiddle..He brought unpredictability to the role..His hand gestures, mannerism, moments of madness all add to an unnerving aura that puts us on edge..Not due to nervousness, we are on the edge of our seats awaiting his next move..What makes KN special is his frightening realism..The actor should be revered as Television's greatest baddie..😃

Kamal Narayan never had enemies..He just had an obstacle named Chakor..His motive was to test her patience against her "moral code" which is, she cannot kill anyone..But eventually KN succeeded in breaking her motto..So he did win before taking his last breathe..
The biggest question is 'How did such brilliant antagonist die?' Well, all his life, he sweared by a funda, which was "Don't trust anyone"..But for the first time, he did trust one Tamarind and had to face death..šŸ˜•
I always believed the following lines to KN-Chakor's relation..
"You wont kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness. And I won't kill you because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever"
But..all good things come to an end..He tried to kill her and ended up falling into his own grave..A legendary ending to his role..
Sai Ballal as KN has given a timeless performance which left a mark on every viewers heart and soul..His signature dialogue "Kaun hai hum..Kamal Narayan Rajvanshi" will be ringing in all our ears..This magnificent actor should be appreciated but all adjectives are falling short before his stupendous piece of work..😃

So guys this was my love for KN..Just feeling so empty that I will miss him onscreen..But Im happy he left with all my respect and love..It took a lot of time for me to draft this as I don't want to sound as if Im supportig negativity..Just wanted to appreciate him from the bottom of my heart and express my love for this character..😊

Wonderful post Divya. Very well written.
As much as a hate KN, to me he will be the most powerful onscreen villian in the history.of indian television.

The Chakor KN combo was a winner from.the begining of the show and continued to rule till his last episode. You are right divya he made chakor kill him, the same chakor who was never ready to kill nor take law in her hands. In a way i am thankful to him for digging his own grave and chakor got her much needed closure. What a journey.

Sai Ballal sir is a masterpiece. What an actor, his voice, his body language and expressive eyes always spoke volumes.

They will never be another kn on indian tv.

I might write more later

Sai sir was remarkable as Kamal Narayan.
Though he was very cruel villain and what he did to Chakor at the end was completely inhuman but the fact is we enjoyed his acting always.
He is very flexible in his movements and his varied expressions were fun to watch,he always do a particular dance move to celebrate his happiness and I still remember when Sooraj tied him and Ragini in the godown, like he did to four of them and when Sooraj about to shoot KN,the expression he was given was bang on.
KN was in a way Sukor shipper too as his attempts only makes them close to each other and cat and mouse games between Sukor vs KN was one of the golden phases of Udaan last year.

Chakor Vs KN was one of the highlight of the main story as banduvagiri and her dream of freedom all associated with KN.

The fact is that we feel angry at him but never really hate him that level or fed up with his antics or screen space or anything is the proof of his capabilities.

Personally this is the first time that I'm admiring a onscreen villain !!!

Thank u Divya for this post.

Excellent post Divya, very very well written šŸ‘šŸ‘
Kaun Hai Hum with his hand gesture has made an indelible mark in the history of Udaan and also his famous Bam Bam Bole also keeps echoing in my ears...

True to say, I never hated Kamal Narayan Rajvanshi for one he was the first and foremost SUKOR shipper and I liked him for the reason he challenged Chakor always openly so he was a true warrior who fought face to face...

Spandan and Sai Ballal literally carried Udaan on their shoulders which made me glued to it. and the way he says Sach Me Sach Me... also reverberates.

His days doomed when he started to trust the most untrusty aide.

As you rightly said he always instigated Chakor but believed that she will not take law into her hands but he forgot that during the holi time she was all set to shoot him if he did not reveal about the brakes for Suraj so the bird word spare her nonviolence for her love, and now it was the loss of her unborn and the life of an innocent child she was pushed to endure the most sinful act she dreaded.

Never a negative character apart from Mogambo and Kabbar was highly appreciated and Sai Ballal Sir hats off to you as you have come in par or in line with them.

Suraj and KN were a treat to watch... which cannot be set aside with any other combination..

Udaan without Kamal Narayan Rajvanshi is half truly...

You stand out Sir.

For once I feel happy to have liked a negative character which would not have been true but for your versatile acting.

All the best to you.

Excellent post Divya, well said.
Although KN was a heartless tyrant, I never hated him or got angry with his plotting and scheming. Sai Ballal Sir's superlative acting and charisma made all his scenes a must watch.

I loved his voice modulation and mannerism, and KN's funny antics, he knew when to use them without going overboard.

I love how you said that he made Chakor break her motto.

KN will be sorely missed.

can never forget KN,he is unforgettable and iconic.
there goes the craft in writing a character and enacting it this way, that people in spite of hating them, really cannot do without them.

Sholay would have never been a classic, without Amjad Khan saying that "so ja bete, nahi toh Gabbar aa jayega"
Mr.India would have never be an all time fav, without Amrish Puri doing that "Mogambo khush hua"
People would not have been drooling on SRK,had he had brought that swag,"Don ko pakadna, mushkil hi nahi, namumkin hai"

In the same way,it will always be echoing in my ears whenever I will remember Udaan,Sai Ballal saying it in his own style,"Kaun hai hum???...Kamal Naarayan Rajvanshi".

(still I am fantasising and wishing it somewhere that someday a twist comes where KN is alive)
