Hello darlings
Finally here with an update of this story
SHOT 1

"ishita get ready fast kanna" there came the voice of her mother who had knocked the door for the nth time by now. She just glanced at herself in the mirror, dressed in a maroon kanjivaram saree with lots of heavy jewellery, that makeup, flower strings around her hair, she looked like a perfect tamilian bride but was she happy, she wasn't. She was having mixed feelings about this marriage. The man she was going to marry in a while was a complete stranger for her, her parents had chosen him and though she knew her parents would never make a wrong choice for her, somewhere she was scared like any other normal girl. That guy was as stranger for her parents as her; he was her father's childhood friend's son, Raman Bhalla. He was settled in London post finishing his MBA and was looking after his dad's business there and had returned to India a few years ago just to get married to a girl of his parents' choice. Wasn't that a bit strange for someone who had stayed in London for years now, he could have married a girl of his choice, he could have got a girl far better and beautiful than her, someone who would fit better in his lifestyle than her then why, why on earth did he choose to marry her? Why? All these questions were drumming in her head making it heavy. Her trance broke as there came anther knock at her door and this time, keeping all her queries and questions aside, she opened the door smiling at her mother who awed over her little daughter who was dressed as a bride, getting married today. She wiped off those tears blurring her vision and pecking her daughter's temple softly, led her outside as she made her sit next to raman. She looked up at him after a while and that was the first time she saw him, well she had glanced over his picture earlier but this was her first experience of seeing him in real. She downcasted her eyes immediately and soon they were asked to exchange garlands.

They were now asked to settle down and the priest began chanting mantras. She dared not look at him once in between the rituals while he too was sitting there with a blank face. the priest then asked them to take the nuptial vows, he got up, forwarded his hand to her, trying to help her get up as he saw her having difficulty in getting up due to her heavy saree and jewellery. She smiled in adoration as she looked at him with an awe and without her realising it, slipped her hand in his, letting him help her get up.

He didn't released her hand from his, as both circled around the holy fire, him holding her hand firmly making an adoration and a respect build in her heart for him. They finally settled back in their place and he filled her partition tying that mangalsutra around her neck, something that made her his wife from a girl. She closed her eyes letting that feeling sink in while they took the elders blessings.

She smiled at him but he didn't return that smile making her lips curl down as his behaviour just sowed a seed of insecurity in her heart.
Soon her vidaai too happened and she finally bid adieu to her parents and cousins. Her amma telling her to be a good DIL and wife and she just nodded her head. She settled in his car while her senior bhallas assured iyers about their daughter.
They soon reached the bhalla house and toshiji welcomed them doing their aarti before she instructed ishita to step inside the house pushing the vessel of rice with her right foot.

Going by her MIL's instructions, she did as told and both stepped inside the house together. They were made to sit in the living room and the post marriage rituals just started. Both were asked to find the ring from the big bowl and raman found the ring twice winning the game as all his cousins and siblings hooted for him. Toshiji came there and seeing his cousins and siblings busy in teasing ishita, scolded them. She instructed simmi to drop ishita to raman's room to which simmi nodded her head, not missing to nudge her elbow with a teasing smile plastered on her lips.
She entered his room, the room which was hers as well now and glanced around, it was beautifully decorated for their first night and gulped the lump in her throat feeling nervous all of a sudden. Simmi made her sit in the bed and covered her head with the veil before she wished her luck for her big night and finally left from there after a long teasing session, something that was making her even more nervous.
She was sitting in the middle of the beautifully decorated king sized bed, her hands were shivering due to fear and nervousness, she had got married today to a boy of her parents choice, someone who was a complete stranger to her, whom she hadn't even seen before her marriage, well this wasn't something new, this is what happens with every girl as per the rituals of her village, but the way he had held her hand during their pheras was something that had lit up a little hope in her heart that her life with this stranger won't be that difficult for her and she will find her prince charming in her husband.
Her heart was thudding loudly thinking what would happen after he comes inside, her cousins had already scared her telling her how their respective husbands had just jumped on them once they entered the room on their wedding nights. She picked a glass of water from the night stand and gulped it all in a go trying to calm her nervousness. Keeping the glass back in its place, she glanced at the clock which showed 12:30, and her husband was nowhere to be seen. But she didn't have to wait any longer as she heard the door opening and him walking inside. She quickly corrected her posture and sat like a perfect bride, under the veil. He took slow steps towards the bed leaving her heart pounding with his each step. She closed her eyes tightly the moment she felt him leaning in but feeling nothing from him for a minute, she looked up only to hear his emotionless voice
"ishita, we just got married but we hardly know each other and doing it with you now would be more like doing it with a prostitute, let's just know each other a little before taking our relationship ahead"
Ishita was left surprised with his statement and before she could say anything, he picked his pillow from the bed and left the room wishing her a night leaving her with mixed feelings. One side, she was happy that he hadn't almost forced her into getting into a physical relationship the very first night of their marriage when she wasn't ready for it yet, but at the same time, she didn't liked him comparing her with a prostitute, wasn't that rude on his part. She had felt ashamed hearing that word from his mouth for her, never had she imagined hearing that word from her husband the very first night of their wedding. But she was relaxed as he wasn't in the room anymore. Keeping all her thoughts aside, telling herself he had nothing in his mind when he just used that word for her, she moved to the washroom to get changed, badly wanting to get rid of that heavy jewellery and saree. She was standing before the mirror as her eyes widened in shock seeing the washroom, it was bigger than her room in the village. She could see so many things in the washroom, the tub, the shower, a glass partition between the two; those white towels arranged nicely, every single thing anyone could have asked for was there. She slowly began removing her jewellery lost in her own thoughts.
The other side, raman exited his room and sighed in relief. It was suffocating to stand there in the room and meet her eyes after knowing such a big truth about him is being hid from her. He didn't knew how she would react after she knows it, will she stay with him or will she just leave him, he didn't knew. He closed his eyes tightly running his hand through his hair and not finding a solution to the same, moved to another room stomping his foot in anger. He just recalled how he had entered his room all determined to tell the entire truth to her but couldn't bring himself to actually do that and how in all that confusion and his inner turmoil, he ended up using the word prostitute. All he wanted to tell her was they both should take some time to know each other before they take their relationship ahead, they are complete strangers to the other as of now, that's it. Where did that word prostitute came from, he didn't knew, he had no idea what she must be thinking about him now after the blunder he just did and lost in the same thoughts, he got changed and slipped in the bed.
Ishita stepped out of the washroom and lied in the bed thinking about him and without her realising it, soon she was in deep slumber while the other side, raman was on a guilt trip and was having a sleepless night.
