I stood at Death's Doors

and silently cried

when I saw tears of joy

glisten in your eyes.

I stood at Death's Doors

and my heart skipped a beat

when, with joy

you tapped your dainty feet.

I stood at Death's door

and a pain so intense pierced me

when I heard your

happy laughter, filled with glee.

I stood at Death's door

and couldnt handle my bleeding heart

when with every gesture and smile

we moved further apart.

I knocked on Death's door

and I ambled in, steady and slow

as I counted and accounted

for your every blow.

I sank into the soft cushions

behind Death's door

feeling betrayed

feeling sore

I took up Death's game

behind its closed walls

to avenge every hurt

and every dastardly fall

I will brandish Death's sword

expertly and skilled

till my heart is at peace

with its vengence fulfilled.

hiya beagleboy.. very moving poem.. wrenches human emotions. it does'nt give me the chill of death.. in so much it fills me with great sadness.. at a love that perhaps once kindled, but now is put out.. mind you the pay back time and talk of avenging one's self is frightening..
keep composing poetic pearls..

Beautiful B,

Ghost seems to be standing at the threshold with only revenge in his mind. But this emotion is not going to be realised ...love will overpower that hate and maybe then the ghost can cross that liminal state

He does seem to have suffered a lot and that's what his poetry implies. Specifically when he talks about 'roz khwab duffan kia hai ...' and likening his heart to a graveyard of dreams is very telling. With every disappointment that pieced his earthly being, a resolve becomes stronger in his ghostly apparition. This line struck me because Disappointment is inevitable and yet there is no greater pain than disappointment, because it brings with it disillusionment and takes away hope.

Good to see you here and hope to see you more. Yes, it is clear that revenge is his motive but who does he hold a grudge against? Sharanya? Vyom? He does not seem interested in Vyom as much as he is into Sharanya. So is he trying to awaken her sleeping memory? His poetry is very telling though. He pens those verses for Sharanya. Looking forward to the medium who may throw light on his story, but I do believe that he had a deeper relationship with Sharanya than meets the eye.
