| RANG DE BASANTI, the upcoming big project starring Aamir Khan, has fetched record prices for some of the territories that have been sold. The distribution rights for Delhi-U.P./East Punjab have been sold for Rs. 3.5 crores, West Bengal/Rajasthan for Rs. 1.40 crores, Tamil Nadu/Kerala for Rs. 50 lakhs and Mysore/Karnataka for Rs. 50 lakhs. RANG DE BASANTI is one of the eagerly awaited films of the season as Aamir Khan makes his return to a contemporary and youthful film after a gap of almost five years [after DIL CHAHTA HAI]. The film, directed by Rakeysh Mehra and produced by UTV Motion Pictures, is slated for release in January 2006. |
