EDT~ ep 7. 31.10.17. My Stance~ Driven against the wall..
Life brims with situations when humans are put into awkward scenarios and extreme positions. Happens when they are not ready to take certain steps, but outside agencies, relationships, enforce or manipulate them into situations wherein they end of being trapped and pressurized. Today's episode for me converges upon Sharanya s needs, a young woman who suffers clinically from partial memory loss. The episode shows the girl fends off the gentle persuasive onslaughts of her family into a relationship with Vyom , based on a past emotional attachment of hers, off which Sharanya has no recollection what so ever. Her immediate family pushes her against the wall. It's like they gently connive for her to take a decision in favour of Vyom being her life partner.. seems they sweet talk her by showing familial support, but brush aside subtly what she has to say in her defence..
Sharanya does not mince her words with loved ones around her. Instead she digs her heels and stands her own ground! She can jolly well manage on her own, she didn't need Vyom , he can go home! she'll be fine, till her family returns! Pity leaving them together doesn't quite have favourable results as Vyom tells Sharanya's father, she doesn't need him and storms off in a hissy fit!! Aftermath , is Sharanya given a talking too by her parents.. but the only way to survive after her coma with her Vyom influenced family , is to be assertive in what she feels ! speak for herself no one can force her to forge relationships she feels blank towards. I wouldn't say she finds him obnoxious, in fact she values his care, generosity and commitment both towards herself and her family. It's just that she fails to connect with the love he professes she felt towards him .. blame it on her memory loss..
I feel Sharanya's family's constant hard sell of Vyom to her brings out a sharp reaction out of her.. better they adopt Vyom as their ideal child .. son? and let her go to hell! Die! At that moment an unseen presence is felt by her that gives her a recurring chilling strange sensation. Her mother catches on to her daughters frustration.. she reminds Sharanya ,how she yearned to see her up on her feet, reprimands her never to utter words of dying. The Bhist amily is unaware of the extraordinary incident that befall's their daughter. She is drawn to the bathroom once again. Perhaps to confirm she was seeing things, merely a consequence of her overheated imagination? Immediately the strange feeling engulfs her. Broken glass from the shattered bulbs lie on the sink vanity surface.. and unhinges her again.. it was the water that turned to ice and frozen her dipped lower arm.. to prove herself wrong , was purely her mind tricks! She dips her arm in to check the water temperature! It feels icy instead of warm! This time she clearly sees to her horror! The shadow of a man in the reflection of the bath! Screams and she rushes out terribly disturbed! blurts out all the strange incidents she feels.. an eerie presence, that gives her the shivers! smell of stargazers turning to decaying dead bodies!.. and fear! Her brother puts her mind at rest.. Google research shows its likely side effects of drugs she's on! with time the side effects will gradually subside.. The intention here, is to put her mind at rest , that her reactions are not abnormal.. none of them suggest that perhaps she needs to mention this to a trained medic. Its like a mopping up Sharanya's anxiety. The Bhist's only concern is to steer her towards Vyom.. how he is right person for her ..he will give her a steady ,secure happy life.. they seem desperate to palm her off to Vyom ,and this too all for a good life. No wonder she cries out they can only think off Vyom's feelings.. it's sad she pleads before her family, to be given the allowance ,space and time to come to terms with her own traumas.. her scares and disturbances! She confides she senses someone around her all the time ..
Vyom was told he isn't needed.. so homeward bound he is..madhvi is one delighted mother, her attitude towards Sharanya is good riddance to bad rubbish. What interests me is her taunt that once a woman was at the receiving end.. it's her darling son who has been used by Sharanya and then chucked to the side! She feels he needs to get over her, but once again Vyom reiterate's his love is not for turning away! But Vyom too will not pushed into the wall.. he asserts, for him, Sharanya is not some challenge ,some game to be won.. now that she doesn't need him is regardless as for him .For he continues to love her unconditionally. So looking at things presently, Vyom clarifies,that whatever her reaction ,he will stand firmly that she too loved him two years ago. Only now memory relevant to Vyom in her mind is currently frozen in time.Vyom pines for Sharanya , her change he blames on a strange thought. Seems he too senses more and more, that some unexplained person between them..
I had my reservations about her parents being deaf to her needs. But Sharanya herself is assertive enough to make her needs be known to her father.. that marriage is not on the cards for her as yet, her health is! both his parents decidedly back off pressurizing her for the time being.. Outside Shiv's ghostly shadow watches the family harmony scene ,and his hoary breath cracks the window panes..
On his balcony a disgruntled Vyom stands.. not even the moon in the dark firmament, or her memory as she stands today , allows him to create melodies.. her love was his inspiration now his imagination is barren. The only thought that niggles him is how to scale the distance created between them.. how much he loves her.. she cannot fathom..
Sharanya truly fails to fathom his love, all recollections, connections to Vyom are just not there in her mind.. even her heart misses out on links with him. It 's not as if she rejects him outright.. she is aware her parents think the world of him and Vyom gives every reason for that.. but its another strange unseen presence she senses that leaves her cold and chilly.. a breeze blows, dry leaves are swept, strangely enough she almost sees a figure pass by her.. Vyom phones her, wants her to tell him ,all good with her.. for him it would be a lullaby for a sound sleep.. he will wait for her till eternity before she replies, a hoary gust of wind! and suddenly the potted green plants on the terrace , wilt, discolour and virtually droop, and eventually green foliage freeze.. lights flicker and Sharanya screams and runs from the terrace.. Shiv's voice over.. flowers will wither, souls will tremble. Beauty will wilt away.. what fun it will be when the moth of death knocks at your door.. whose death is being referred to?
Overall a good episode, covering manipulative,assertive tactics,hallucinations ,precap: More unexplained happenings, Sharanya sees a figure on a rocking chair.. there is talk of Sharanya being in the grip of the occult ,having certain powers .. Hamlet53 1.11.17
