Yes. You are correct. But also wrong.
Like Baldev said,
"Use tumhara khoon hai, lekin tumhari parvarish nahin"
Anami can never take place of Vatsalya. She should not. If she will, she will remain preserved in words and memories - not in actions and active thoughts.
Anami was never the heir of Lal Mahal for Satrupa. She was the last straw of hope for Satrupa. A twine of leaf for the sinking dreams. She was never the belief. Satrupa hoped for Anami to take place of Vatsalya. She was the hope for Anami to replace Vatsalya. For everyone to love her like they did Vatsalya. To pronounce her heir, like they did him. To be her support, like him.
But Anami was born to be a leader. Not a follower. She was born to create an identity not to replace one. She was born to strength, not to submissive. She was born to be admired, not cuddled. She was one to create change, not to carry on.
Vatsalya would have never done what Anami did today. Never, he could think of no hurt to anyone. He tried to appease everyone. Too bad, you cannot eat the cake and have it too. He tried to find the good in everyone, formed no prejudice and was extremely pliable. And when you see too much of white, you are blinded and you will fall. That is what happened to him,
Anami forms prejudice. She immediately catches onto the obvious bad in anyone, and is extremely adamant. And when you see too much of black, you are vulnerable and open to attack. Too alert, and too jumpy. This is what is happening to Anami.
But you need light. In required amount. Darkness in required amount. Every person has a dark and bright side to him. The part which dominates sees the light.
Satrupa has now lost hope. She never had the belief. And she has fought through hook or crook to keep that hope afloat. Not the immense trust on her blood. On her own.
She cherished Vatsalya as he supported. She became a mother through him. She found a life, lived it willingly with him.
This whole journey is about those tangled relationships. Wherein you find the beginning and the end. The fineness of each thread. The tension each can withhold. The fragility of each. The beauty of each. Like a delicacy, every relations needs a balance of flavours, sweet, salt, bitter - but in appropriate amounts - experimentation can be done - but carefully. A dominance can destroy it.
