Me too. I will never be on the same page with him. His misconceptions and misinterpretations are well known and intolerable.

Hi Lakshmi & @KalyaniPanchali,

I have been reading Devdutt Pattanaik since quite sometime now, maybe because I have no real knowledge of actual texts, find his books interesting and easy to understand.

It gives me some knowledge to have discussions with my Mom in Law, although limited (due to me). My MiL is very spiritual and mildly ritual, and she is a good bank of knowledge too. I get to learn by discussing with her.

By the way, my MiL is totally against my watching Mahakali. She feels that it is so distorted, that we get all very wrong images in our mind. She firmly believes that even if we watch it only for entertainment, subliminally we imbibe the wrong facts and somewhere down the line it will become our reality.

In a way I guess this forum helps us from taking in the wrong facts.😊 and keeps us informed.

So hurrah for this forum👏

Hi dear, you can call me Panchali 😳
And yeah, the original Mythology and hisinterpretations are very, literally very far from each other. I find them offensive to some extent.

I agree with your MIL actually. She's very right 👏

Hi rsnarula 67
Your mother in law is absolutely right. The adverse effect will be more to those who are too young to understand the facts. I tell my daughter to stay away from this show as this reached the peaks in distortion of facts.

Wow @rsnarula67 , your mom-in-law sounds like a very wise soul 😊 .
We may think that we might not absorb everything we watch but our sub-conscious minds collects and registers everything that we see . That's why in our family we do our best to keep little children away from television .

And you're right , discussing here in the forum with open-minded people really helps a lot .

Feeling grateful for have finding this place 👍🏼
