1. How do you celebrate Diwali with your family?

Ganga snanam (Oil from tip to toe and wash off with sikakai 😳) followed by eating deepavali legiyam.. new clothes.. bursting crackers.. yummy sweet and savouries.. poojai followed by visit to temple.. deepavali special programs on TV.. visiting friends and relatives..

2. Favorite memories - traditions? food?

One festival we all look forward too.. ⭐️

Early morning 3:00 AM.. My grandfather an octogenarian would apply turmeric to all the new clothes.. my grandmother would apply oil (special one prepared by my amma adding betel leaves, pepper etc.. ) to all of us with nadaswaram and sar vedi bursting sound.. bath and then wear the new clothes .. Amma would give us the deepvali legiyam and then we would all run off to burst crackers .. fun time till sun rise.. After that eat the yummy sweet, savouries .. One festival where we need not wait for the poojai to be over.. Poojai by appa followed by blessings from all elders.. Visit to temple mainly to flaunt our new dresses to our friends and neighours 😆 .. Yummy Lunch and deepavali special programs on TV..
