Why does Bollywood over hype a good performance ?

Am I the only one who thinks Bollywood has a tendency to overhype good performances ?
I thought In neerja, Sonam was good at best
In cocktail , DP was good , but people will say how amazing she was
All she literally did was play a party girl who later has a breakdown
Then , people went OTT praising queen and twmr , Kangana was really good in both but what was so special ?
Comparatively , Aamir in Dangal was really good
Or even Vidya in Dirty picture but again, she was extremely overrated for Kahani
Why do we have such low standards for a good performance ?
Kangana's Queen was good at the very best , how is that such a GREAT performance ?
Barfi was different and very good , Ranbir is a good actor hence able to pull of any role
Bollywood is having a really bad time because people are rejecting average movies and performances now (unless you count Judwaa 2 which is a family and mass entertainer)

They get a memo.. A poke... Praise me now, I will praise you later.. Kinda like everyone promoted Rustam but sidelined MohenjoDaro.. Or how everyone goes gaga over a certain trailer and ignores others.. Its all a network.. BW wale as insiders would care zilch about what a good performance is

Agree with you. Good Performance don't usually bring moolah. Stars do.
Case in point - Newton 19 crore VS Judwa 2 110+ and counting. 😊

Bollywood is commercial movie industry. Performances are not really important. Mostly stars forget they are in acting business and perform what they consider is acting, audience be damned. Hence when they actually show some range, media goes ga-ga. Beside marketing team pays to keep the hype up so the movie gets good turnout.😆
