Why Can't a Girl Decide her Own Fate?

I really don't understand why Saras can't make her own decisions. Why should Uma decide for her? These days, parents/guardians can't even make their kids to eat the way they want, then how come Saras has no say in the matter?

This is further annoying because, the work around to this problem, that if Saras is married, then the decision will be taken by the in laws and husband bothers me more.

When she has to be the sevika, why can't she decide?

Hey Desigal great point! But now we are all at the mercy of TRP aunties!! Jab tak woh upar nahi Jayega ya badhega ( increase)till than we would have to jhelofy this irrational track of sevika, separating Kanum by making Kanak cry all the time..can't even imagine the number of glycerine bottles used up until now..I expected much more to this than this same old same old Dharam...I swear I will party hard and send you all virtual sweets when in One entire episode Uma or Kanak or Masisa will not utter word Dharam!! Till than Shivji give me strength.. 😉 😆

Anyways, jokes apart. It's not that Saras can't decide, she said for her, whatever her brother decides is what she will do. She's the good kid, but, sometimes that's not good enough I guess.

If Kanak listened to her brothers, she would still be in Pushkar but Uma conveniently forgets that. Dumbo Uma xD

It's not that Saras is not given the freedom to make her own decision. Saras herself has repeated the same line for almost 100 times, that she will only abide by her Dadusa's laws and decisions. Saras has decided to follow what Uma decides for her. She didn't even protest against his decision, because she is a girl living in Satyuga, I guess. She has been imbibed with such sanskaar that the elders decide and the younger ones follow.

She independently took the decision to get married secretly. Without asking anyone's permission.

Bhagwan jaane why she decided to elope with Vansh. If she was emotionally black-mailed by Vansh, she should have informed the others, rather than disappearing from there. This will increase her own problems.

Yeh ladki toh Uma se bhi aage nikli. 😆

Hi desigal.I remembered in one previous episode Uma was telling to kanak regarding Payal mrg its their parents decision.He asks kanak if not parents who will decide best for children? Also in s Shiv adoption day he tells kanak that a eoman has three important men in life Dad,Hubby,Son.So only he will decide for saras since his dad died.But for kanak her family didnt choose him although lord chose her for him.

Uma takes decision like this it's good that if she don't take any decision like that.
