Last night I found myself among a tiny minority who did not enjoy the episode. I blame it on myself. I allowed myself to think too much about the bathroom scene after reading one too many fangirling tweets and spoilers. So I slept on it.
It's Karvachauth and memories of Shivaay and Annika's first one comes to mind. They were fighting their attraction for each other but yet couldn't keep eyes off one another. Annika had fasted inadvertently, and who knew WHY Shivaay had fasted then. Because it wasn't for Tia *wink* , weird guy. So the importance of KC is not lost on the two. It was a sweet memory.
But she had fainted with the added anxiety of seeing Tia in another man's embrace. Shivaay had caught her and broke her fast. A hilarious turn of events came where he suddenly got very very nervous that she was going to tell him that she was in love with him.?
Elsewhere, Shivaay lays the bait for senior Oberois, to get to the secret from 25 years ago. Dadi never got admitted to the hospital with jaundice, so the FIR was faked. Lies. A memorial is being planned to commemorate victims of the fire that ravaged Kalyani Mills, and the blackmailer will be there. Pinky and Jhanvi's faces say it all, "Oh God, now we're finished!"
Abhay goes after Bhavya, first her job, then her rented place. Such innecessary viciousness in his revenge over 'Rudy Boy's broken heart. But was he really speaking to Rudra? I doubt it. He's looking delusional. Only people he hasn't messed with are Annika and Gauri.
Om, fretting in his room about Gauri who wouldn't answer her phone. He could trace her phone? Or even logically come to conclusion that she went back to her recently ailing mother.. Sigh.
But ShivKara conversation left me in a little conflicted mixed feelings. Shivaay took a long time before reaching the level of respect and understanding with his wife. He failed many times and still isn't out of hot water yet. To say Omkara failed as a husband seems a little hypocritical, but as big brothers go, it was what Om needed to hear. He needed to hear that and get up charged to go get his wife back. Now. Huh. Grr.
Precap looks to me like Annika is feeling a little insecure about who the unaddressed Love card was for. A dreamy Karvachauth is upon us I presume... bring it. It'll help this weird bad feeling that Punky will hurt Annika seriously this time, or even Abhay, for spoiling his careful plans.
Retrospectively, the scene in the room was adorable, behind the couch. Shivaay hid with her , holding her head close protectively.. even hitting her head mock-angrily for making noise. Those little things warm the heart.

Shivaay and Annika have an interesting dynamic. Most of the time Shivaay dominates , but if you realize it's only because Annika allows it. If she doesn't, there's nothing he can do to stop her. With her comes her element of surprise and unpredictability.
It's time like these when she springs a surprise on him that he is really stumped. Hahaha.. like that time she demanded 30 seconds of undivided attention and proceeded to rob him of speech completely with sexy "I Love You Shivaay "..
So this time she marches into his bathroom as he was dressing and startled him. Um, he didn't lock his bathroom door? Hawww?! In a house full of people?? Billuji is cutest and she enjoys Shy Singh Oberoi's blushes.
What's cutest for me was the way he was completely lost the moment she was touching him. All sounds ceased and he was a goner. Goodness this guy is basket case for his wife. So cute! He heard nothing of what she had said and proceeded to tease her about Karvachauth.
She may be putting a brave front but this KC seems to be pretty important to her. She was willing to go hungry for him and vice versa, but both are determined to deny it. Blackmailer's watchdog presence nonwithstanding. Sigh. Priorities.
Tanya knocks suspiciously and Shivaay tries to evade. I still don't get why he is so cordial with this person. He's actually trying to persuade this nonsignificant person and hide his "jeene ki wajah" in his bathroom. They could've just staged a HUGE fight again over some stolen shampoo or something and marched her right out.
But she hides herself by submerging herself in the bathtub full of water. It was quite unnerving, to Shivaay and me, how unthinkingly she just puts herself into these hair raising danger so easily for him. I felt his anxious stammer, fretting and scolding.
"Promise me you won't put yourself in unnecessary danger like this. You are my life!!"
Wow. That was beautiful for me. That was far better than "you are very important to me" ... (Yeah, but she hasn't seen that video yet).
(With what face did that girl come and ask for her sargi like that?! .. hmph. If you ask me, the fact that the family and Annika are going along so nicely should be indication that something is amiss. But this Tanya's mind is fixed on her beau, whom she's blackmailing over the phone to come for KC. Sigh.. Kya hai yeh)
