Anika past was not shown and gauri was adopted so we do not know her past too ...

Well maybe Annika only remembers Chutki(Gauri) because she 'died' in front of her own eyes (fell into the water) and because of her traumatic experience, her brain blocked her earlier memories related to her parents and other sister( Bhavya)?

If Annika was 6-7 years old when Chutki 'died', that means Chutki (Gauri) was 2-3 years old (4 year difference), too small to remember anything once she grew up.

So, the three can very well be shown as sisters and whose past can be easily related to the Oberois.
