Suvarna is not Karthik's Mother, she is Manish's second wife and his step mother.
When Karthik tells Naira bout his past he says that Suvarna had come as an office employee, after which Manish started spending more time at work, fights began at home between Karthik's parents which he and Kirti would witness. One day his mother commits suicide.
So Karthik believes that Suvarna Manish had an extra martial affair which led to his mother taking her life and what made it worst that Manish got married to Suvarna, just a
little while after Karthik's mother's. Plus I guess he also doesn't like her as he thinks Manish always chooses Suvarna above him and blindly trusts her.
