I personally feel its a time waste to make this show again.
It will never garner good trps.
I think it's better to donate the money that will be spent to make the 3rd season to a welfare charity as 24 will never be able to revive Anil Kapoor 'S prospects as a headliner (That I feel is the real motive behind producing this show ;-)).
Anyways , 24 Is a good concept.
But unfortunately , the very format is very tough to execute (even the original makers failed to execute in the later seasons) .
Also, the law and order system in the original show which the desi version tends to follow closely has no resemblance to the actual Law and order system prevalent in India.
More clearly, it lacks the desi "punch" that the most famous show of this genre, CID has.
Another problem that I have with this show is its casting.
While 24 maybe has starred many of the best actors in TV and of BW so far, the most overrated cast members were also some of the worst actors in the series.
Anupam Kher and Sakshi Tanwar simply wasn't a good choice for the respective roles they did.
Same goes for Shabani Azmi too for some extent, but still she scraped through.
But the biggest negative point of this show's casting is well, our hero and our Prime Minister (whose characterization is also influenced quite by Rahul Gandhi).
Yes, Anil Kapoor and Neil Bhoopalam both have the worst characters of this show and also are the worst actors of the lot.
Which is quite unfortunate as Jack Bauer and David Palmer are the most important characters of this series.
24 S1 will always be a masterpiece.
Kitna butcher karo, it'll always be one of the best espionage thrillers.
Credit should be given to the writers of the American S1 and not the Indian ones.
Because S1 was nothing but a copycat of the American S1.
But the places where they have tried to improvise, the writing room fell flat on their face.
And S2 kinda proved that how the writers are impaired while handling the concept of 24.
And also their advisors, Howard Gordon, are the ones to blame for the eventual downfall of 24series back in US so it's kinda certain that they'll mess up the Indian version too.
24 S2 was a kind of experimentation that proved that the writers of this series are anything but creative.
Ekta Kapoor 'S CVS can write better than this.
Overall, the major weak link for the desi version of 24 for me is :
Casting and Only casting
Maximum actors either can't act(Neil Bhoopalam and Sapna Pabbi ,Sikander Kher and nearly all of the extras of both seasons ) or are complete misfit for their characters.
Also the main characters are quite clumsily written.
Jai Singh Rathore is one of the worst tv protagonists of all time.
Anil Kapoor never was a lead material.
While he's an average actor, he scores too low on the looks and charm part to grasp both the female and male attention
He usually gets overshadowed by his heroines and villains.
And those, where he has to pull the entire load, he flops hard.
And when the TV audience are getting to see better looking ,more charming and younger alternatives, why would they care for anil Kapoor?
So, the biggest I think about 24 Is the cast is too old and boring.
Only Ronit Roy's cameo was the saving grace of the entire series.
This guy is a wonder
