If Gul Khan hadn't approached Barun Sobti for Advay Singh Raizada, or if Barun Sobti had refused - not only would we have been deprived of a captivating performance, it would also have been injustice towards the actual character. That is the conviction I have in Sobti's performance!
Coming from a soap junkie who's grown up in a household that's been watching soaps since the Kyunki Saas and Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki days...😆...I can't remember an actor that has been a complete package. Whenever a Sobti pic is posted, I'll come up with one or two stupid drooling kinda comments 😆 but make no mistake of it - this man's ability to leave a mark with his performance is his real beauty 👏
Yes we've had intense anti-heroes before. The concept is not new. But what makes IPK3 different is the treatment of Advay Singh Raizada. Credit to the writers. A.S.R is flawed, deeply complex and a character of many many layers. He's not your typical anti-Hero. There are so many dimensions to the character and quite frankly, the CVs needed the right actor to execute it. The writers have created him, but it's Barun Sobti that is breathing life into Advay Singh Raizada!
I'm not saying he's the best thing ever (I'm actually thinking it, jokes 😆) I'm sure he's got his shortcomings (I can't think of any 😆) but damn, does he command screen presence or what?! 🥳 The walk, the talk. The intensity in those eyes. Those A.S.R.ish mannerisms 😆 That smirk! Barun is bang on point. All I see is Advay Singh Raizada onscreen. Past performances are irrelevant. He's living every moment of the tortured soul in a quest for revenge!
And on the other side we have Shivu! 🥳 I always LOVE rooting for the underdog 😆 and I like to be surprised at times. And Shivani has pleasantly surprised me. I know some people have yet to warm to her, or for reasons better known to them - can't bring themselves to like her. But that's their choice. I'm not here to ask why. I'm here to say why I do! Shivani Tomar gives me Chandni vibes 😆 Shivani has that softness, warmth and innocence that Chandni possesses. Chandni may not be complex like Advay, but she too is flawed. I'm looking forward to the intense scenes that Shivani will be showcasing in the future!
I'm genuinely appreciative of her hard work and efforts. She's still facing negativity, but it's heartening to see her garnering a fan base of her own. She thoroughly deserves it! I admit, she still has a long way to go but she is doing justice to Chandni Narayan Vashishth and above all, Shivani is justifying Gul's decision to cast her in the lead. I hope she continues to grow as a performer. Her positive aura will help her go a long way in her career and life in general 😳
And when these two come together onscreen, for me it's like a breath of fresh air! After a very VERY long time, an onscreen couple has engaged me to this extent that I'm practically posting almost every day. And that hasn't happened in a long time 😆 Shivani's innocence as Chandni and Barun's intensity as Advay: it's delightful and endearing! These two complement each other very well onscreen. Their onscreen partnership is very free flowing, so easy on the eyes. And may I add, that height difference is an added charm 😳😆
This might come across as an out of the blue, random post for some 😆 But I'm just a grateful fan. An avid viewer of the show who wants to shower her appreciation and express gratitude to the leads of IPK3. Barun Sobti and Shivani Tomar - love you guys, yaar! ❤️
